Working on Holidays. Authorized work performed on a holiday or during the holiday period as defined in Article 10.1 and Article 10.2 (or on the day designated as such under Article 10.4) shall be paid at time and one-half for all hours worked. In addition, the employee shall be entitled to holiday pay in accordance with Article 10.1 and Article 10.2 and subject to Article 10.3.
Working on Holidays. Employees who are required to work on a holiday shall be eligible for compensatory time, per Article 27.

Any work on a day that is defined as a paid holiday by Section 84-1001 R.R.S. will be compensated for by granting the employee compensatory time off or by paying the employee. Nonexempt employees will be compensated per Section 8.2E. Exempt employees will be compensated at straight time and allowed to take the holiday within sixty (60) calendar days of the observed holiday. The method of compensation for the holiday worked will be at the discretion of the Agency. If compensatory time off is granted, the employee will determine when such time will be taken, subject to Section 8.2B.
Working on Holidays. Employees shall not be required to work on legal holidays that are non-school days as established by the Board of Education and specified in the annual school calendar; except in the case of emergency or as outlined in Article 6, Custodial/Maintenance #8 of this agreement.

Any employee required to work on a non-floating holiday shall be paid one and one-half (1 ½) times the employee's regular hourly rate of pay, including longevity pay, for all hours worked on the holiday; provided, however, that an employee required to work on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day shall be paid two (2) times the employee's regular hourly rate of pay, including longevity pay, for all hours worked on such holidays. Employees required to work on a recognized non-floating holiday shall also receive a subsequent scheduled normal workday off with pay.

6.2.1.1. For employees working on an observed holiday, the observed holiday shall be considered the holiday.
6.2.1.2. For employees working on an actual holiday but not the observed holiday, the actual holiday shall be considered the holiday.
6.2.1.3. For employees working on both the actual holiday and the observed holiday, only the actual holiday shall be considered a holiday.
