Xxxxxxxxxx Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML. Employees shall be eligible to receive Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) under the Washington State Family and Medical Leave and Insurance Act. Employees are responsible to file claims with the Employment Security Department (ESD) and payments for such leave will come from ESD. To be eligible for this leave, employees must have worked a minimum of 820 hours within the qualifying time period outlined in the Law. It will be the sole choice of the employee as to the order such leave shall be utilized. If an employee has qualified for SEBB, those benefits will continue while they are on PFML. Upon return, the employee will return to their original position.

Xxxxxxxxxx Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML. Employees will be provided Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) benefits as allowed by law. The District will annually notify employees about the benefits available under PFML. To fund this leave, the District shall pay its share of the premium as defined in RCW and the employee will be responsible for the remaining amount. To qualify for PFML, employees must work 820 hours or more in the qualifying period, which shall be defined as the first four of the last five completed calendar quarters starting from when the employee makes their claim for benefits. PFML may not be taken without a qualifying event. PFML benefits shall include up to twelve (12) weeks of paid leave per year to care for self or family and may be extended under certain circumstances. Weekends, holidays, and school breaks that fall within an employee’s PFML leave do not count toward the employee’s PFML entitlement. Employees are responsible to file claims with the Employment Security Department (ESD) and payments will come from the ESD. The District shall maintain their portion of the medical benefits when an employee is on leave. The employee shall continue to pay the same out-of-pocket as prior to leave. Employees may choose to use PFML prior to exhausting other leave options and will not be required to exhaust sick leave prior to accessing PFML. PFML may be used consecutively with the employee’s other paid leave entitlements, at the employee’s discretion.

Employees are responsible to file claims with the Employment Security Department (ESD) and payments for such leave will come from ESD. To be eligible for this leave, employees must have worked a minimum of 820 hours within the qualifying time period outlined in the Law. It will be the sole choice of the employee as to the order such leave shall be utilized. If an employee has qualified for SEBB, those benefits will continue while they are on PFML. Upon return, the employee will return to their original position. When an employee is seeking PFML, he or she will provide notice to the District of the intent to seek PFML. The employee will notify the District when he or she learns that he or she has been approved for PFML by ESD. The employee will provide the District with documentation received from ESD showing the approval of PFML leave. Once the employee has provided such documentation, the District will provide the employee unpaid leave consistent with PFML. The District will pay 100% of the premium/fee for the Washington State Paid Family & Medical Leave program.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.

  • Family Medical Leave (a) An employee is entitled to family medical leave in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.

  • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA A. The State acknowledges its commitment to comply with the spirit and intent of the leave entitlement provided by the FMLA and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) referred to collectively as "FMLA." The State and the Union recognize that on occasion it will be necessary for employees of the State to take job- protected leave for reasons consistent with the FMLA. As defined by the FMLA, reasons for an FMLA leave may include an employee's serious health condition, for the care of a child, spouse, or parent who has a serious health condition, and/or for the birth or adoption of a child.

  • Family Medical Leave Act Pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, an employee who has been employed at least twelve (12) months and worked at least 1,250 hours during the prior 12-month period is entitled to twelve (12) work weeks of leave during any 12-month period without pay but with group health insurance coverage maintained for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA a. Pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA, as amended, an employee with more than one (1) year of experience, and who works at least 1250 hours per year, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence, of up to twelve (12) weeks, during a twelve (12) month period, for one or more of the following:

  • Family and Medical Leave (FMLA FMLA leave shall be granted pursuant to applicable law.

  • Family and Medical Leave Act All employees who worked for the Employer for a minimum of twelve (12) months and worked at least 1250 hours during the past twelve (12) months are eligible for unpaid leave as set forth in the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. Eligible employees are entitled to up to a total of 12 weeks of unpaid leave during any twelve (12) month period for the following reasons:

  • Xxxxxxxxxxx Leave Classified personnel may be granted two (2) days of Xxxxxxxxxxx Leave with pay in the event of the death of the employee’s spouse, parent, step parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, child, step child, legally adopted child, biological/adoptive parent of child, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, or grandchild. After the two (2) days, the employee will be allowed to use accumulated sick leave, personal leave with pay, or personal leave without pay contingent upon approval of immediate supervisor when it is determined the needs of the school can be met. Classified personnel will be allowed to use accumulated sick leave, personal leave with pay, or personal leave without pay, as approved by the immediate supervisor, in the event of the death of the employee’s xxxxxx parent, xxxxxx child, step brother, aunt, uncle, step sister, current spouse’s step parent, current spouse’s xxxxxx parent, current spouse’s grandparent, sister-in-law, brother-in-law.

  • Family Care and Medical Leave An unpaid Family Care and Medical Leave shall be granted, to the extent of and subject to the restrictions as set forth below, to an employee who has been employed for at least twelve (12) months and who has served for one hundred thirty days (130) workdays during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the effective date of the leave. For purposes of this section, furlough days and days worked during off-basis time shall count as "workdays". Family Care and Medical Leave absences of twenty (20) consecutive working days or less can be granted by the immediate administrator or designee. Leaves of twenty (20) or more consecutive working days can be granted only by submission of a formal leave application to the Classified Personnel Assignments Branch.

  • Family Care Leave In accordance with RCW 49.12 and WAC 296-130, employees shall be allowed to use any or all of their choice of sick leave or other paid time off to care for a family member (as defined above) who has a serious health condition or an emergency condition. Employees shall not be disciplined or otherwise discriminated against because of their exercise of these rights.
