Eligibility for Promotion. An employee in the classification of Police Officer must have a minimum of five (5) years service in the classification of Lincoln Police Officer as of March 1 of the testing year to be eligible to test for the classification of Sergeant.
Eligibility for Promotion. Length of service in rank and at the university may be a factor in consideration for promotion. Normally, three (3) years in rank, with two (2) PDR evaluations conducted in accordance with Article 22, since the initial assignment to rank or last promotion is a minimum prerequisite for consideration for promotion. All full-time faculty whose appointments are effective after the beginning of the academic year shall be considered as having begun service at the beginning of that academic year. Faculty members who do not receive an evaluation under Article 22 shall not be denied consideration for promotion.
Eligibility for Promotion. E2.4.1.1 A Faculty Member shall ordinarily spend a minimum number of years in each rank before becoming eligible for the next higher rank. Except as provided in Articles E2.4.1.2 and E2.4.1.3 below, the minimum periods of service within each rank shall be as follows: Lecturer - three (3) years; Assistant Professor - six (6) years; Associate Professor - six (6) years.
Eligibility for Promotion. 21.12.1.a All Lecturers/Clinical Lecturers with at least six years of full-time- equivalent service as a Lecturer/Clinical Lecturer, Lecturer I, Lecturer II, or in a position, excluding student employment, with duties and responsibilities substantially the same as Lecturer, will be eligible for consideration for promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer/Clinical Senior Lecturer. Service in other titles not explicitly enumerated herein or service in comparable positions at other institutions may be credited towards eligibility for promotion at the time of appointment to a lecturer position if it is included in the offer letter or written agreement. If a faculty member doesn’t have credit for prior service in their respective offer letter than the parties agree to review a request for credit of prior service on a case by case basis.

Lecturer I’s will be eligible to apply for promotion to Lecturer II following the completion of nine (9) cumulative quarters of employment with the College as a Lecturer I, and completion of ninety (90) or more credits of instruction as a Lecturer I (or equivalent for non-teaching faculty). In addition, all part-time faculty compensated at the Senior 2 Rate are eligible for promotion to Lecturer II.

Sergeant (Shift Supervisor) and Detective Division - Open to classified Deputy Sheriffs with three (3) years continuous employment service in the Department and a total of five (5) years law enforcement experience as a fully sworn, certified officer. Candidates must have performed road patrol duty.
