Student Employment. (a) Students who are employed to backfill in a bargaining unit position shall be paid the bargaining unit rate and if so employed for more than ten (10) weeks will be a member of the bargaining unit.
(b) Students who are employed only to supplement the work of the bargaining unit members will not be members of the bargaining unit and the Employer shall set their rate of pay.
(c) The Parties may agree that students hired for special projects will not be members of the bargaining unit and the Employer shall set their rate of pay. Such agreement shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Student Employment. Students and youths employed by the Municipality shall be paid as shown in 7.01 and 7.02 below and shall be covered by all the terms and conditions contained in this Collective Agreement, except as provided for in 7.03 below:
7.01 Students and youths working as replacements in established Association positions will be paid the established rate for the job.
7.02 Students and youths working on special projects sponsored by Government grants, other than regular summer programs, will be paid the Government project "funded rates". Funded rates will also be paid to students and youths working on special projects where the applied for government grant was not approved.
7.03 In addition to the payment of wages outlined in 7.01 and 7.02 above, students and youths shall qualify only for (four) 4% vacation pay. Payment for time off on a Statutory Holiday will be calculated and paid for as per the Employment Standards Act provisions. Any time worked on a Statutory Holiday will be paid as outlined in Schedule D.
Student Employment. Northern Michigan University and Local 1950 of the UAW recognize and agree that the employment of students is a part of the total financial aid program at the University.
Student Employment. Students may be employed during the school year and summer vacation from school. The JLMC shall have the authority to limit the employment of students it deems necessary to offset unemployment of regular workers.
Student Employment. The Association recognizes that it is the policy of the University to provide employment for students to assist them in obtaining an education. No employee in the Unit shall be displaced or replaced by a student employee. The University, by November 1 and March 1 of each fiscal year or upon request, will provide to the Association a list of students employed with their department, hours worked per week and rate of pay identified.
Student Employment. 16.01 In the event employment is offered to students (who are continuing their education), during the period of April 15 through to Labour Day, they shall be employed under the following conditions:
(a) Such student employee shall be subject to the provisions of 2.01 of this Agreement; upon subsequent rehires as a student employee, the Company will deduct Union dues without any further probationary period in accordance with the Union Constitution and By-Laws.
(b) Such student employee shall not accumulate seniority during the period of employment as a student.
(c) Such student employee shall be entitled to pay for statutory holidays in accordance with the provisions of 11.01, after having completed thirty (30) calendar days of employment in each period of employment.
(d) A student employee shall not receive any of the benefits referred to in this agreement.
(e) Student assignments will be mutually agreed between the Union Executive and the Company.
(f) Except as set forth above, such student employee shall be subject to all the other terms and conditions of this Agreement.
(g) Should such student employee apply and be accepted as a permanent employee, his/her seniority shall date from his/her first date of hire as a permanent employee.
(h) The termination of student employees shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.
Student Employment. 29.1 It is the policy of the Employer to provide jobs for students to assist them in obtaining an education. The Employer shall not use students to replace the regular work force within the Bargaining Unit but only to supplement the work force. The President of OUCMT will be provided every two (2) months a list of students employed in each department.
Student Employment. (a) The district may hire up to six (6) students per year to be paid at the student rate of pay.
(b) The district may hire additional students totally funded by other programs (work experience, youth employment programs, co- operative programs, etc.).
(c) No students shall be employed while there are employees on recall. Extra summer clerical hours will be offered to continuing and continuing temporary employees before students.
(d) The students are hired for short periods in the summer for minor work in the general labour pool for grounds and maintenance, as well as technology support.
(e) Summer Students will be exempt from accruing temporary hours for the purpose of obtaining continuing temporary status.
(f) When two or more summer students are assigned to a non- supervisory employee, the employee will be paid lead-hand pay.
Student Employment. The school does not encourage students to take jobs outside of school that could interfere with their success in school. If a student believes that he/she must maintain a job in addition to attending school, he/she should first make contact with the Principal to discuss any legal requirements and obtain the needed documents. Work permits are issued by Xxxxx Center Public Schools and can be obtained from the main office. Xxxxx Center West Middle School may charge specific fees for non-curricular activities and programs. Such fees or charges are determined by the cost of materials, freight/handling fees, and add-on fees for loss or damage to school property. Students abusing school property and equipment may be subject to disciplinary action. A fine is used to pay for the damage, not to make a profit. Late fines can be avoided when students return borrowed materials promptly. Failure to pay fines, fees, or charges may result in the withholding of grades and credits.
Student Employment. (a) The Corporation and the Union agree to cooperate to create temporary employment opportunities under Post‐Secondary Co‐Op programs, student work placement programs (including but not limited to internships and practicums), and holiday student work opportunities.
(b) The Corporation and the Union agree that the Employer may have up to twenty (20) students working under this provision of the Collective Agreement at any one time, unless increased by mutual agreement between the Corporation and the Union.
(c) The Collective Agreement posting, filling vacancies and selection process provisions shall not apply to these temporary employment opportunities.
(d) Post‐Secondary Co‐Op students will be paid at the rate of pay established by the educational institute. Where the educational institute does not establish a rate of pay, the student shall be paid no less than step one of Pay Grade 9. Students other than Post‐Secondary Co‐Op Students will be paid be at a rate established by the Corporation provided that in no case shall a student be paid less than step one of Pay Grade 9.
(e) Employees covered by this Article shall not be entitled to any benefits or paid time off provisions provided by the Collective Agreement. They shall receive four percent (4%) vacation pay which shall be paid each pay day.
(f) Employees covered by this Article shall not accumulate any seniority, length of service or bidding rights or be granted any credit for time worked if they obtain a regular position.
(g) Employees covered by this Article shall be covered by the Union Membership and Union Dues provisions of the Collective Agreement.
(h) This Article does not apply to non‐employment opportunities created for students such as job shadow programs.
