Leave Regulations. The leave regulations in Subchapter 510 of the Employee and Labor Relations Manual, insofar as such regulations establish wages, hours and working conditions of employees covered by this Agreement, shall remain in effect for the life of this Agreement.

Article 30 of the National Agreement and Local Memoranda of Under- standing provisions do not apply to MHAs, except as specifically referenced in the 2019 National Agreement and as follows: During the local imple- mentation period, if properly raised in accordance with Article 30, the parties will discuss whether to include provisions in the local memoranda of understanding to permit MHAs to apply for annual leave during choice vacation periods, as defined in Article 10 of the National Agreement. Granting leave under such provisions must be contingent upon the MHA having a leave balance of at least forty (40) hours. Leave Regulations. Employees may use sick leave for absence due to pregnancy disability.
Leave Regulations. Teachers who are absent without an adequate lesson plan available for the substitute teachers shall forfeit their right to collect salary on the sick leave plan.
Leave Regulations a. A unit member granted a leave of absence without pay and who accepts other professional or similar employment during the period of his/her leave forfeits his/her right to any accumulated benefits. A unit member who intentionally misrepresents or falsifies facts in obtaining an unpaid leave or who fails to report to work at the expiration of leave may be disciplined, including discharge.
b. Unit members who are on unpaid leaves of absence do not receive or accumulate benefits or accrue seniority during that time.
Leave Regulations. An employee who is unable to work due to sickness is required to notify his Supervisor, as soon as possible, and in any case, within the two (2) hours of such absence. Failure to and in the absence of satisfactory disciplinary action may result. In order to establish the date from which sick leave credits shall be computed, employees entering the Service between the first and fifteenth day inclusive of any month be credited from the first day of that month. Employees entering the on or after the sixteenth day of the month shall be the first day of the following month. For the purpose of these regulations, one (1) week is considered as five (5) In accordance with the preceding schedule an employee who is absent because of illness shall be considered to be on sick leave from the first day, providing he notifies his immediate Supervisor in compliance with Clause In doubtful circumstances, the Supervisor may require a physician’s certificate. When an employee is unable to continue work because of illness, he shall continue to receive his basic rate of pay for day with no loss of sick leave credits for that day. Notwithstanding the provisions of the foregoing clauses, where the absence is frequent, extended or seriously interferes with the effectiveness of a production unit, a physician’s certificate must be produced. Likewise, a medical examination may be required by a physician appointed by the Company. If other considerations necessary, then the matter should be through the lines of organization to the Department Head. An unusual amount of absence may be considered sufficient to withhold wage increases or even for dismissal. Cases of quarantine be dealt with individually, as occasion demands, and may be paid for subject to the limiting conditions of the sick leave regulations. An employee who has totally exhausted his sick leave and after resuming duty for twenty-two (22) days is again ill with an unrelated illness, will be eligible to receive, after (10) consecutive days of illness, (15) weeks payment at the rate of pay (Insurable Earnings)per week.
