Retention of Benefits. Union leave under the following four (4) sections will be unpaid. The Employer will maintain regular pay and xxxx the Union for the costs of the employee’s salary and benefits. If the Union member is part-time or casual, and the leave is greater than their normal work hours, the Employer will pay the employee for the full length of the leave requested by the Union. The Employer will xxxx the Union for these days as noted above. The Union will pay these invoices within twenty-eight (28) days. Union leave is not unpaid leave for the purposes of Article 22.02 [i.e. such leave will not affect the employee’s benefits, seniority or increment anniversary date].
Retention of Benefits. Upon return to employment, academic employees shall regain all benefits such as sick leave, tenure, retirement, and seniority (upon return to full-time employment) to which they had been entitled prior to the date of RIF.

An employee on a leave of absence except for maternity or paternity leave as covered in Article IX Section 9.3 leave will be required to pay the cost of the insurance benefits provided in Article in order to keep these benefits in full force and effect during the period of leave. Arrangements for payments of such costs through normal deductions or otherwise must be made with the County’s Payroll Office prior to departure on the leave. For the failure to make such arrangements the Employer may cancel insurance benefits, which will be reinstated upon the employee’s return to work, subject to such waiting period and other rules and regulations as may be applicable to the insurance plan
Retention of Benefits. 21.1 The City assures the Union that in placing the terms of this Agreement into effect, the Department will not proceed to cancel benefits or privileges generally prevailing for employees even though such benefits or privileges are not itemized in the contract.
