Extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave. A Member may request and the Board shall grant an Extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave provided that such leave is applied for six (6) weeks prior to the projected date of commencement of the leave, and provided that the extended leave period terminates immediately prior to the beginning of a school term.
Extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave. 23.01 The Board shall grant an extension to the parental or pregnancy leave as provided in Article 20 and Article 21 in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in this Article.
23.02 The Member shall provide a written request to the Board at least four (4) weeks prior to the scheduled end of the leave, as outlined above, indicating the start and end dates of the extended leave.
23.03 The extended leave shall not exceed one (1) year.
23.04 The employee may continue participation in group insurance plans provided they pay the full premium coverage of the premiums for the leave period up to a maximum of one (1) year and provided the group insurance plan allows continuance of such coverage.
23.05 A member who intends to resume employment on the expiration of an extended leave under this Article shall so advise the Board and on return to work the Board shall reinstate the Member, subject to Article 45, Layoff and Recall, to the position/location the Member most recently held with the Board, if it still exists, or to a comparable position, if it does not.
23.06 A Member who intends to resume employment earlier than the originally scheduled date of return, under this Article, shall advise the Board four (4) weeks prior to the newly requested date of return.
Extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave. (i) Upon written request at least four (4) weeks prior to the expiration of Pregnancy Leave, Adoption and/or Parental Leave, an additional leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority, shall be granted to a maximum of twelve (12) months.
(ii) The employee may maintain health and employee benefits in accordance with the respective plans if the employee so wishes by payment of the costs of such benefits by the employee.
(iii) The employee returning to work after extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave shall provide the Board with at least four (4) weeks’ notice.
(iv) On return from extended pregnancy/parental leave, the employee shall return to the position previously held by the employee.
(v) On return from extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave, the employee shall be assigned to the same position or a comparable position if the position held prior to the leave no longer exists.
Extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave. Upon written request, at least ten (10) working days prior to the expiration of pregnancy leave and/or parental leave, an additional leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority, shall be granted to a maximum of twelve (12)
Extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave. (i) An extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave shall be granted for a period not to exceed one (1) year. The duration of the leave, commencing date and termination date are at the discretion of the Board and subject to mutual agreement with the teacher.
(ii) During the extended leave:
(1) experience for seniority shall accrue; and
(2) a teacher may elect to pay full benefit premiums to keep coverage in effect.
(iii) Subject to redundancy provisions (Article L24.00) and with the exception of Clause 16.8 (a) (ii) the teacher will be returned to the same school as assigned to prior to the commencement of the leave.

Extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave. 24:01 The Board shall grant an extension to the parental or pregnancy leave as provided in Article 22 and Article 23 in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in this Article.
24:02 The member shall provide written notice to the Board at least two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled end of the leave indicating the start and end dates of the extended leave.
24:03 The total length of the pregnancy/parental leave and extension shall not exceed two years.
24:04 The member may retain any insured benefits in which the member was enrolled immediately prior to the leave. Premiums for coverage will be paid by the employee and the Board in accordance with Article 52, for up to one year’s duration. An employee granted an adoptive leave or pregnancy leave in excess of one (1) year’s duration and up to two (2) year’s duration shall be allowed, subject to the terms of the insurance carrier(s), to maintain the employee benefits in Article 53 held immediately prior to the granting of the leave. The employee shall reimburse the Board for one hundred percent (100%) of the premiums for the period in excess of one (1) year’s duration and up to two (2) year’s duration.
24:05 A member who intends to resume employment on the expiration of an extended leave of absence under this Article shall so advise the Board and on return to work the employee will be reinstated to the same position and work location held by the member immediately prior to the commencement of the leave of absence, if the position at that location still exists and is vacant, or to a comparable position if it does not exist, subject to Article 51, Xxxxxx and Recall.
24:06 A member who intends to resume employment earlier than the originally scheduled date of return, under this Article, shall advise the Board four (4) weeks prior to the requested date of return. The request for return shall be accommodated, if possible, subject to the provisions of clause 24:05.
24:07 Reinstatement from extended Parental Leave under this Article shall be at the salary/wages that the member would be earning had the member worked during the period of the statutory pregnancy/parental leave (i.e. the member will receive credit for salary purposes for the period of the statutory pregnancy/parental leave).
Extended Pregnancy/Parental Leave. (a) A parental leave or combined pregnancy leave and parental leave may be extended without pay up to an additional one (1) year on approval by the Board.
(b) A teacher on extended leave shall have the option to continue Long- Term Disability premiums which shall continue to be paid 100% by the teacher.
(c) A teacher may continue on extended leave for the periods of extension set out in L14.04 (a) without loss of sick leave top-up credits accumulated up to the date the pregnancy and/or parental leave commenced in accordance with Part A.
