Voluntary Training. Where training facilities are provided by the Company on a voluntary basis, an employee taking advantage of such training will not be compensated.
Voluntary Training. 1. Voluntary training is any training an officer/employee may attend at any training institution on their off-duty time.
Voluntary Training. Employees attending a voluntary training class will be paid for time spent in training during the employee’s regular work hours. The employees will only be paid for travel time when it falls within their regular work hours (including passengers and drivers). If the use of a private automobile is authorized, the owner of the vehicle will also receive mileage reimbursement for driving to and from the training location and their regular work location. However, if the training site is closer to the vehicle owner’s home, that employee shall be paid for the mileage to and from his/her residence and the training location.
Voluntary Training. Where training facilities are provided by the Railway on a voluntary basis, an employee taking advantage of such training will not be compensated.
Voluntary Training. In the case of voluntary training, the Department may modify the starting time and days of the affected member without incurring overtime.
Voluntary Training. Employees who request training on a voluntary basis will 5 not be paid for study time associated with said training, nor will overtime compensation be paid for 6 workdays that extend beyond the normal contractual workday if said workday is part of the normal 7 training schedule, provided, however, employees who are required to attend by the Department will 8 be paid their regular wage for attending training plus any overtime, if applicable, pursuant to the 9 overtime provisions of this agreement.
Voluntary Training. The Employer has the sole right to determine courses and training opportunities which may be made available to affected employees. Upon specific approval of the City, employees may be allowed to participate in optional training courses. Time spent on such optional training courses will not be paid for by the City. The City will pay costs of books, tuition and other course fees upon satisfactory completion of the approved course. A minimum grade of "C" shall constitute satisfactory completion, or when grades are not given, a certificate of satisfactory completion is required. Provided, when applicable, an average grade of "C" shall constitute satisfactory completion grade for required and voluntary training.
Voluntary Training. Employees who request training on a voluntary basis will 24 not be paid for study time associated with said training, nor will overtime compensation be paid for 25 workdays that extend beyond the normal contractual workday if said workday is part of the normal 26 training schedule, provided, however, employees who are required to attend by the Department will 27 be paid their hourly base rate of pay for attending training plus any overtime, if applicable, pursuant 28 to the overtime provisions of this agreement. If an employee seeks professional development 1 opportunities under CLA Article 12, they must obtain advance approval for scheduling and time 2 away from work.
Voluntary Training. Training that is not mandatory may be with or without pay reimbursement of expenses and tuition costs at the discretion of the City, and in accordance with the FLSA. Such training or course work may also be subject to such other conditions and restrictions as the City in its discretion may specify. The employee shall be advised at the time that the training is approved as to whether the training is considered mandatory or voluntary training.
Voluntary Training. The Authority may make available voluntary training related to the duties of bargaining unit members. The parties may agree to reschedule shift(s) and day(s) off. Voluntary training scheduled and attended on a member's day off shall not be considered as time worked. Any voluntary training that is considered as time worked shall not exceed the hours the member was originally scheduled to work (including, but not limited to overnight stays, travel, meal time, etc.) that day(s).
