A BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. (i) An employee will be entitled to bereavement leave of four (4) working days without loss of salary in the event of the death of a member of the employee’s immediate family. Immediate family is defined as parents (including step-parents or xxxxxx parents), brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse, same sex partner, fiancé(e), child, step-child or xxxx of the employee, or relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently resides.

A BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. The provisions of this clause apply to full-time and regular part-time employees (on a pro- rata basis) but do not apply to casual employees. The entitlements of casual employees are set out in clause 12.3.5.
A BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. Bereavement leave not exceeding three (3) days per death shall be granted by a Department Head on account of the death of a parent, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, spouse, significant other, child, step-child or an employee’s spouse’s parents, employee’s grandparents or grandchildren.

A BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. The Employer agrees to provide three (3) days of bereavement leave for those employees suffering a death of an immediate family member. Immediate family member is defined as mother, father, siblings, spouse, domestic partner, grandparents, grandchildren, children, current-in-laws and current-stepfamily members. This includes an employee who experiences a spontaneous miscarriage or stillbirth or in the event an employee’s spouse or domestic partner experiences a spontaneous miscarriage or stillbirth. Two (2) additional days off without pay will be allowed when an employee is required to travel more than five hundred (500) miles in any one direction to attend the funeral. The employee must use PTO if they have PTO accrued, or they may take unpaid time if they do not have PTO accrued for the additional two days leave. Domestic partner is defined as an individual who will be identified by name, not be married to anyone, is eighteen (18) years of age or older, is not related by blood closer than would be by marriage in the State of Washington, they are each other’s sole domestic partner and are responsible for each other’s common welfare, share the same regular and permanent residence, have a close personal relationship and share basic living expenses incurred during the domestic partnership, on such form as designated by the agency.
A BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. An employee who notifies the FHN as soon as possible following the death in her immediate family will not be required to attend work during the four (4) days following the death of such relative prior to and inclusive of the day of the funeral whether or not they are scheduled days of work for such employee (without loss of regular pay as a result of such non-attendance at work). When the funeral of the deceased is more than 300 miles from Thunder Bay, additional time off of up to two (2) days may be granted upon request. Immediate family means parent, step-parent, legal guardian, child, brother, sister, grandparent, or grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, spouse or common law spouse, grandparents of spouse or common law spouse.

TA 7/21/2021 Section 10.1(b) For the bereavement leave period, the employee shall receive pay in the amount which the employee would have earned had he/she worked during the period at his/her regular rate of pay on his/her regularly assigned shift.

  • Bereavement Leave (a) Upon the death of an employee's spouse, spouse to include same sex partner, child or stepchild, an employee shall be granted leave up to a maximum of five (5) continuous calendar days without loss of pay. One of the days of leave shall include the day of the funeral or equivalent service. Additional days off with or without pay may be granted by the Employer. Part-time employees will be credited with seniority and service for all such leave. In the event of a delayed interment or ceremony for reason of religion or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code, an Employee may save one of the days identified above without loss of pay to attend the interment or ceremony.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.

  • Bereavement A maximum of three (3) days earned sick leave may be used per occurrence for bereavement due to the death of persons in the immediate or extended family, as defined herein, or any relative who resided with the employee.
