EMPLOYEE HOURS. The language below covers only the preparation guaranteed contractually. Other periods of preparation time, although not guaranteed contractually, may be available for planning. For a traveling teacher, every effort will be made so the majority of the preparation time will be provided during the student day in the building the teacher is scheduled to be teaching the longest. Each certified teacher shall receive a minimum of 700 minutes of preparation time in a 10-day cycle. The above preparation time includes time prior to the start of the student day and time after the departure of students. The scheduling of preparation time shall be determined at the building level by mutual agreement between the Principal and the Association representatives selected by the teaching staff. It is realized that there are exceptions to the normal schedule for preparation time depending on circumstances beyond the principal’s control. Every effort will be made to schedule a minimum of 30 continuous minutes of preparation time three of five days and one additional day of 25 minutes of continuous preparation time. This continuous preparation time may include the before and after school time but it is preferable to schedule the continuous minutes within the student day if at all possible. It is understood by both parties that there are exceptions that may periodically prevent this continuous time (i.e. weather, professional development, special programs, etc). The intent of this agreement is to xxxxxx an understanding that each party wants to find and schedule as much continuous preparation time as possible for certified teachers. However there are constraints that limit the ability every day for continuous preparation time of 30 minutes. In addition to the preparation time referenced above, each elementary employee shall receive break time of 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the afternoon four out of five days. On the day where breaks are not possible, teachers will work with their principal and peers to ensure personal needs are met.

EMPLOYEE HOURS. A. Workday. 1. The total in-school workday shall consist of not more than eight (8) hours. 2. Employees may leave the building without permission during their scheduled lunch period, subject to notification to the principal’s office. Other non-duty departures from the premises during the workday may be granted by the building principal and the granting or denial of permission cannot be grieved. 3. A total work day for teachers shall consist of not more than eight (8) hours, which shall include a 25 minute lunch period, at least twenty (20) minutes of which shall be duty free. The arrival and departure time for each employee shall be determined at the discretion of the Board. On Fridays, excluding district-wide Professional Development Days, and the day preceding holiday vacations the employee(s) departure time will be fifteen (15) minutes after the end of the student day. Employees may be required to attend, without additional compensation, eleven (11) faculty or other professional meetings, either immediately before or after their regular work day. However, such meetings shall not be more than three (3) hours in length nor last past l0:00 P.M. Employees will be given twenty- four (24) hours written notice that attendance is required. C. In addition to the above, employees may be required without additional compensation to attend no more than four (4) evening meetings outside the regular school day each semester. This would exclude unpaid class or club sponsors or chaperons for activities. Attendance at additional meetings shall be at the discretion of the employee. D. When mutually agreed to by the principal, staff members may substitute scheduled teacher in service, non-teaching work, and parent-teacher conference time for other non-teaching work or in service time. Such agreements shall not be construed to limit other provisions of this or other articles. E. During the employee'' normal working hours there will be a time allotment for the purpose of classroom preparation. The principal or his/her designee shall designate the time and location for such preparation time.
EMPLOYEE HOURS. Accountabilities shall maintain, and shall provide to TSE-PEO at the end of each pay period, accurate records of actual time worked by each Assigned Employee. Accountabilities assumes full and unconditional responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the payroll records submitted to TSE-PEO. Accountabilities warrants that all time cards or other payroll records submitted to TSE-PEO shall be complete and accurate. Accountabilities shall not direct, request or permit the Assigned Employees to work any unreported hours.

EMPLOYEE HOURS. 6.01 Each employee shall record daily arrival and departure in the appropriate column for each employee’s sign-in, sign-out roster unless otherwise authorized.
