More specifically, the percentage increase shall be equal to the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers in the U.S. (CPI-U), as published by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, in December, two calendar years prior to the year in which taxes are extended (collected). Example: CPI released for December 2022 will be used on July 1, 2024.
