Break in Seniority. Seniority shall be broken and terminated if a nurse: 1. Quits unless reemployed within twelve (12) months. 2. Is discharged for just cause. 3. Is laid off for lack of work for twelve (12) consecutive months. 4. Is absent from work without good cause for three (3) consecutive working days without notice to the Medical Center. 5. Fails to report for work promptly without good cause after an accident or illness when released to return to work by physician.

Break in Seniority. Seniority shall be considered broken, all rights forfeited and there shall be no obligation to rehire when: (a) the employment relationship is terminated by either the Employer or the Regular Employee; (b) twenty-four (24) months have expired following layoffs.
Break in Seniority. Seniority shall be broken when an Employee: (a) Terminates voluntarily; (b) Is discharged; (c) Exceeds an authorized leave-of absence; (d) Is laid off for a period in excess of twelve (12) months, or (e) is absent for a period exceeding twelve (12) months due to a workers’ compensation injury.
Break in Seniority. Seniority shall be broken when an employee terminates and shall not be restored after a service break. Employees with recall rights are not considered to be terminated under this Section.
