Breaks Meal breaks. ‌ (a) An employee who works in excess of five hours will be entitled to an unpaid meal break of not less than 30 minutes and not more than 60 minutes. (b) Where an employee is required and authorised by the Employer to remain available for duty during a meal break: (i) a Registered Nurse will be paid an ‘on call during meal break allowance’ as provided for in Item 23 in Table 2, provided such that only one allowance shall be payable in any period of 24 hours. If a Registered Nurse is recalled to work during the meal break, then overtime will be paid for all time worked during such meal break; (ii) for all other employees, the employee will be paid overtime for all time worked until the meal is taken. Tea Breaks (c) Every employee will be entitled to a paid 10 minute tea break in each four hours worked at a time to be agreed between the employee and employer. (d) Subject to agreement between the employer and employee, such breaks may alternatively be taken as one 20 minute tea break. (e) Tea breaks will count as time worked.

Breaks Meal breaks. An employee who is rostered to work in excess of five hours will be entitled to an unpaid meal break of not less than 30 minutes and not more than 60 minutes to be taken between the fourth and sixth hours after commencing work, unless otherwise agreed between the employee and employer.
Breaks Meal breaks a) An Employee who works more than 5 ordinary hours is entitled to an unpaid meal break of a minimum of 30 minutes. By mutual agreement, an Employee may work up to six hours without a meal break. b) Meal breaks will not be counted as time worked unless the Employee is: i. called on duty; or ii. required to be on call during the meal break. c) In either case, the time will be counted and paid as ordinary time without any overtime loading. d) If only two or fewer Employees are rostered for the night shift, both will be considered on call during meal breaks and will be paid their ordinary rate for the entire shift, including the meal break. This does not apply if Employees from a co-located facility are available to provide relief during meal breaks. When only one nurse is rostered on a night shift, afternoon shift or weekend shift, the nurse will be considered on call during their meal break and will be paid at ordinary rates for the entire shift, including the meal break.

Breaks Meal breaks. 14.1. Employees will be entitled to an unpaid meal break of 30 minutes each shift. Where the meal break is taken between 2300 and 0600 hours it will be paid. 14.2. If an employee has not commenced a meal break after 5.5 hours of work on an ordinary shift, the employee will, in addition to other payments to which the employee is entitled, be paid an additional 100% of the base rate of pay until the commencement of the meal break. 14.3. The above subclause does not apply in the following circumstances: • employees who, as a result of their work are required to maintain continuity of work; or • the 30 minute meal break is paid; or • the Company and the majority of affected employees agree that the unpaid meal break will be taken after 5.5 hours of work. 14.4. Where 4 or more hours are worked after the employee’s rostered finishing time, an employee will be entitled to a paid meal break of 20 minutes. Where the Company and the employee agree that the paid meal break will not be taken the employee will be paid an additional 40 minutes at the base rate of pay. 14.5. Where 6 or more hours are worked and the time is not continuous with an Ordinary hours’ shift an employee will be entitled to a paid meal break of 20 minutes. Where the Company and the employee agree that the paid meal break will not be taken the employee will be paid an additional 40 minutes at the base rate of pay. 14.6. Employees are entitled to a paid 20 minute rest break each Ordinary hours shift. Provided there is no adverse impact on the continuity of work an employee may elect to take two paid 10 minute rest breaks.

Meal breaks are to be taken between the fourth and sixth hours after beginning work, where reasonably practicable. Provided that, by agreement of an individual employee, an employee who works shifts of six hours or less may forfeit the meal break. Where an employee is required to be on duty during a meal break, the employee will be paid overtime for all time worked until the meal break is taken. Where an employee is required to remain on the premises during a meal break, but is free from duty, the employee will be paid at ordinary rates for a 30 minute meal break. This period will not count as time worked when calculating ordinary hours for the purposes of overtime or penalties. If the employee is recalled to perform duty during this period the employee will be paid overtime for all time worked until the balance of the meal break is taken. All employees who work at least 4 continuous hours on any day shall be entitled to a rest pause of 10 minutes’ duration in the employer’s time in the first and where at least 7.6 continuous hours are worked, a further 10 minutes' in the second half of the working day. Such rest pauses shall be taken at such times as will not interfere with the continuity of work where continuity is necessary. In cases where hours of work are 7.6 or more per day, for those employees, the employer may substitute in lieu of the foregoing subclause 25.2(a), after having regard to the employeeshealth and welfare as well as taking into account peak workload periods, one rest pause of 20 minutes in the first part of the working day.

  • Meal Breaks The timing of meal breaks on any particular job may be discussed between the Employer and the majority of employees at a particular site and varied by agreement. Occupational health and safety considerations will always prevail.

  • Breaks 40.1 One 10-minute paid morning rest break and one 30 minute unpaid lunch break will be scheduled within 6 hours after work starts. 40.2 Where an Employee is required to work more than two hours overtime after the usual ceasing time of the day or shift they shall be allowed a 20 minute rest break paid at ordinary time rates prior to commencing overtime. Employees who take payment in lieu of stopping work for this break will be regarded as having worked a further 20 minutes and shall be paid at overtime rates. 40.3 An Employee working overtime on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday shall be allowed a 30-minute combined Rest Period/Meal/Crib Break after four hours work, such time to be paid at double ordinary time rates, with a further 20 minute Crib break to be paid at double ordinary time rates if the overtime continues past 8 hours worked. 40.4 In the case of overtime work being cancelled by the Employer at the end of the 4-hour minimum or any time thereafter, Employees will, in addition to the payments as prescribed, be paid for the 30 minutes combined Crib/Meal/Rest Period if not already taken. 40.5 If work proceeds beyond the 4 hours minimum then Employees will be paid for all time so worked.

  • Meal Break Unless there are exceptional and unforeseen circumstances, an employee will not be required to work for more than five hours without a break for a meal of at least thirty minutes duration. Meal breaks will not count as time worked unless specifically provided for in this Agreement.

  • Lunch Breaks The lunch break will consist of a one-half hour (or one hour where scheduled) unpaid break taken mid-way during regular work day. In the event that an employee is required to work during his regular lunch period he shall be allowed a one-half hour lunch period between the hours of ll:30 a.m. and l:00 p.m., otherwise he shall be paid double time for working through said lunch period.

  • Breaks in Service An employee’s seniority record shall be broken by voluntary resignation, discharge, reduction in force, or retirement. Should an employee laid off return to work within one year, the seniority will pick up from the date of return. Seniority rights will be forfeited if a continuous period of layoff exceeds one year. Should an employee leave his/her assignment in this bargaining unit for another position with the district, the seniority will be frozen. Should an employee return to this bargaining unit, seniority shall continue from the seniority level previously attained.

  • Break in Service No absence under any paid leave provisions of this Article shall be considered as a break in service for any employee who is in paid status, and all benefits accruing under the provisions of this Agreement shall continue to accrue under such absence.

  • Tea Breaks (a) Every employee will be entitled to a paid 10 minute tea break in each four hours worked at a time to be agreed between the employee and employer. (b) Subject to agreement between the employer and employee, such breaks may alternatively be taken as one 20 minute tea break. (c) Xxx breaks will count as time worked.

  • PERIOD OF SERVICE The Grant Services will commence on the Start Date and shall expire on the End Date as set forth in the SUMMARY PAGE.

  • Rest Breaks Employees shall receive a fifteen (15) minute break during each four (4) hours worked. It is the Employer's intention to provide uninterrupted rest breaks.

  • Coffee Breaks The Company will provide two (2) fifteen (15) minute coffee breaks during each work day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
