Departmental Health and Safety Committee. Each City department will form joint safety committees in accordance with WISHA requirements at each permanent work location where there are eleven (11) or more employees. Where there is need, safety committees may also be formed at division levels, and/or unit levels, however these shall not replace the departmental safety committee. When setting up safety committee elections, a department will notify the unions represented at that location and the union shall have 14 days to provide the City with a list of union appointed members proportionate to their representation at the location. Meetings will be conducted in accordance with WAC 000-000-00000. Committee recommendations will be forwarded to the appropriate Appointing Authority for review and action, as necessary. The Appointing Authority or designee will report follow-up action/information to the Safety Committee.
Departmental Health and Safety Committee. (1) The Employer and the Union agree that policies and guidelines relating to safety and health shall be recommended by the Committee.
(2) The Committee shall be notified of each accident or injury and shall investigate and report to the Union and Employer on the nature and cause of the accident or injury.
(3) It is agreed that the Union will be entitled to appoint one representative to the Departmental Health and Safety Committee. The Union agrees to advise the University of the name of the appointed representative.
(4) Employees who attend meetings of the Committee as representatives of the Union shall be without loss of pay for the time spent on this Committee.
(5) A worker appointed by the Union as a workplace health and safety representative will be granted leave without pay to attend a union sponsored Workplace Health and Safety training course.
(6) When the Departmental Health and Safety Committee requests that a union representative on the Committee attend courses and seminars related to health and safety issues, the University shall provide the necessary time off with pay.
Departmental Health and Safety Committee. The Union may appoint one (1) Union Representative to the Departmental Health/ Safety Committee as long as such committee exists. The Union Representative will serve all Bargaining Unit employees. If the appointed representative is a Departmental employee, she/he will be on unpaid leave while participating in meetings of the committee. Additionally, up to eight (8) hours of unpaid leave will be permitted for necessary travel to and from a committee meeting during normally scheduled work time.
Departmental Health and Safety Committee. The parties agree to establish a Departmental Health and Safety Committee consisting of one
Departmental Health and Safety Committee. The Employer and the Union agree to establish a Departmental-level Health and Safety Committee consisting of up to eight (8) members, four (4) from the Union and four (4) from the Employer, for the purpose of addressing Department-wide Health and Safety issues in accordance with Article 22, Section K of the Primary Agreement. This Committee shall meet bi- monthly, upon request of either party. Nothing shall prohibit this committee from compiling and distributing applicable health and safety standards which may affect local work sites, nor from acting as consultants to Work Site Health and Safety Committees. The Departmental-level Committee may mutually review health and safety issues at DHHS work sites if such review is mutually agreed to be necessary. Denial of such request shall be in writing stating reason(s) for denial. Work site and Departmental Health and Safety Committees shall be authorized unpaid leave for committee activity. Any pay provided by the Employer for these meetings is governed by Civil Service Rules and Regulations. The Employer agrees to hold Joint Health and Safety Training for Work Site Health and Safety Committees if planned in conjunction with the Departmental Committee. Training material will be approved by the Employer and the Local 6000 Union President or designated representative.
Departmental Health and Safety Committee. The Department of Technology, Management and Budget and the Union agree to establish a Departmental Health and Safety Committee consistent with the provisions of the Primary Agreement. The Committee shall meet quarterly or more often by mutual agreement. The charge of this Committee shall be to examine DTMB state-wide policy issues and problems associated with the health and safety of UAW Bargaining Unit employees. The UAW Representative on this Committee will be permitted time off his/her regular job, including travel time for the attendance of Committee meetings, training sessions, or educational seminars which have been mutually agreed upon. Any pay provided by the Employer, under this section, is governed by Civil Service Rules and Regulations.
Departmental Health and Safety Committee. The Department will establish and maintain a Departmental Health and Safety Committee. The Committee shall be composed of a cross section of Department personnel. The Committee will be established within thirty (30) calendar days of approval of this Secondary Agreement. The Union will appoint one (1) member who will represent all Bargaining Unit members in the Department. The Committee will meet quarterly or as needed by mutual agreement.
Departmental Health and Safety Committee. A Departmental Health and Safety Committee shall be formed to deal with issues not resolved at the Local-level or issues which cross jurisdictional lines. Where health and safety problems exist after discussion at the Departmental-level, and/or when it is mutually agreed that an on-site inspection may assist in resolving the issue, the Union’s Representative to the Department-level committee will be allowed to inspect that work site without pay. Reasonable requests for an on-site inspection by the Union’s Departmental Health and Safety Committee Representative will not be denied. Each committee will be composed of one (1) Union Representative and one (1) Employer Representative. Additional people may be present as observers or witnesses upon mutual agreement. When the regular committee member is not available (both Local and Department Committees) the Union may designate an alternate who will attend committee meetings without pay. The Union’s Representative attending Local or Departmental Health and
Departmental Health and Safety Committee. Given that the work environment of the Bargaining Unit members in the PACC is exclusively an office environment and in recognition of the small size of the PACC, the parties agree that health and safety issues will be an appropriate subject for Labor/Management Committee meetings in lieu of the establishment of a Departmental Health and Safety Committee. Should these problems go unresolved, the Statewide Joint Committee on Health & Safety will be informed.
