Education and Professional Leave. (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.

Education and Professional Leave. In its encouragement of the Superintendent to grow professionally, the District shall permit a reasonable amount of release time for the Superintendent, as the Superintendent and Board deem appropriate, to attend seminars, courses or meetings in accordance with the Board's policies. In its encouragement of the Superintendent to grow professionally, the District shall bear the costs of membership dues of all professional organizations.
Education and Professional Leave. 20.1 Each department may be permitted to send professional representatives other than the Department Head to attend educational seminars that are job-related at County expense (expense subject to audit). A request to attend seminars shall be made in writing to the Department Head prior to the seminar. If the Department Head approves the request, it will be submitted to the County Manager for his review. Final approval will require the signature of the County Manager and the Chairman of the Legislature.

  • Professional Leaves 1. Professional Leaves are to be used by an employee to gain knowledge for the position contracted through Bath Local Schools. The employee must request Professional Leave through the employee kiosk. Upon approval, the employee may be permitted to attend the Professional Meeting and will be paid at the regular rate.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

  • Extended Medical Leave A teacher who is unable to teach because of personal illness or disability and who has exhausted all available sick leave shall be granted leave for up to one (1) year. Any request for this leave must state the probable date of return and be accompanied by a verifying physician's statement. If the leave was granted as a result of a work related injury the employee may request and shall be granted a one (1) year extension of this leave. Before returning, such teacher must submit a physician's release. To be eligible for an extended medical leave of absence, an employee must have been actively employed on paid status with APS a minimum of one contract year immediately prior to the leave start date. All intermittent medical leaves will be addressed according to FMLA regulations.

  • Community Service Leave Community service leave is provided for in the NES.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Family Care and Medical Leave An unpaid Family Care and Medical Leave shall be granted, to the extent of and subject to the restrictions as set forth below, to an employee who has been employed for at least twelve (12) months and who has served for one hundred thirty days (130) workdays during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the effective date of the leave. For purposes of this section, furlough days and days worked during off-basis time shall count as "workdays". Family Care and Medical Leave absences of twenty (20) consecutive working days or less can be granted by the immediate administrator or designee. Leaves of twenty (20) or more consecutive working days can be granted only by submission of a formal leave application to the Classified Personnel Assignments Branch.
