EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE SCHEME. 77.1 Employees will have access to a confidential, professional counselling service for employees and their families to help employees resolve both personal and work related issues.
77.2 This service will be provided at no cost to employees, other than those engaged for duties that are intermittent or irregular in accordance with clause 68, for up to six consultations.
77.3 Employees engaged for duties that are intermittent or irregular may be given approval to access Employee Assistance Scheme services in special circumstances.

67.1 Geoscience Australia management provides access to an Employee Assistance Scheme at no cost to employees. A confidential, professional counselling service is available to employees and their families to help resolve personal and work related problems.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE SCHEME. The Commission will provide access to a confidential, professional counselling service at no cost to employees and their families to help resolve both personal and work-related problems. SKILLS RECOGNITION AND DEVELOPMENT The Commission will identify learning and development needs of employees annually through the performance feedback process. Progress against individual learning and development agreements will be included in performance feedback discussions. Subject to the Secretary’s approval, professional development needs and professional association membership, where these relate to a qualification required to perform an employee’s duties, may be funded by the Commission. STUDIES ASSISTANCE Assistance may be provided to an employee to undertake formal courses of study at tertiary and higher education institutions and other vocational education courses, where the study is agreed as part of an employee’s individual learning and development agreement. The Commission’s priority is for its employees to undertake formal study in fields which link to the achievement of its corporate goals or which meet their professional development needs. The Secretary may approve the grant of assistance to an employee in the form of financial assistance and/or study leave. Employees are to refer to the Study Assistance Policy for further information. PERFORMANCE FEEDBACK SCHEME AND MANAGING UNDERPERFORMANCE PERFORMANCE FEEDBACK SCHEME (PFS) The Commission’s Performance Feedback Scheme policy contains details of the scheme and processes. Managers will ensure that employees are fully conversant with the PFS. The purpose of the Performance Feedback Scheme is to: help employees identify their strengths and weaknesses, and assist them in developing their skills for furthering their careers; and help the CGC achieve its objectives by: improving communication between employees and their managers about work expectations and performance; setting out individual responsibilities and the standard of performance expected; identifying the development needs of each employee, to xxxxxx and improve performance; and linking work performance to salary and bonus payments.

A confidential, professional counselling service is available to employees and their families to help resolve personal and work-related problems. WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY AND REHABILITIATION Geoscience Australia and its employees agree that they will strive to promote and maintain a safe workplace and work environment, one that is free from bullying, harassment, excessive workload and unsafe hours. Geoscience Australia will take all reasonable and practical steps to monitor the health and safety of its employees at work and the condition of the workplaces which are under Geoscience Australia’s control. Geoscience Australia will provide ongoing training to all employees, including the induction of new employees in basic occupational health and safety principles. All employees agree to work in accordance with Geoscience Australia’s health and safety policies, safety procedures and requirements and to cooperate to the extent necessary to enable Geoscience Australia to meet its duty of care requirements. Geoscience Australia will continue to promote programs focussing on health and well-being. Employees unavailable to attend programs at scheduled times will be given an opportunity to participate by other means. Part-time employees or shiftworkers attending a session outside of their normal hours will have the time recognised as paid time. Geoscience Australia is committed to discharging its duty of care obligations through a structured system compliant with prevailing legislation and relevant codes of practice including: regularly reviewed Health and Safety Management Arrangements; occupational Health and Safety Committee; access for employee representatives to designated work groups and health and safety representatives lists; appropriate access to training, facilities and induction; health and well being programs; and appropriate paid time in normal working hours for health and safety representatives to discharge their duties. In the event of a dispute arising over the application or interpretation of policies, procedures and guidelines relating to this clause 19, employees may access the procedures for settling disputes outlined in clause 10.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE SCHEME. 104.14 A casual employee may be given approval to access Employee Assistance Scheme services in special circumstances.

64.1 GA will provide employees who are excess or potentially excess because of economic, structural, organisational or technological change with assistance to maximise redeployment opportunities and, as much as practicable, will avoid involuntary retrenchments.
