Extended Personal Illness a. Any employee whose personal illness extends beyond the period of accumulated and extended sick leave will, upon application, and with the approval of the Superintendent, be granted a leave of absence without pay, for such time as necessary for complete recovery from such illness, up to the maximum of one (1) year, or as otherwise provided in applicable regulations. Such leave of absence must be supported by a physician’s certificate and approved by the School Medical Director.
b. Employees requesting return to active employment after such leave will furnish the district with a doctor’s certification indicating fitness to return to full employment, which certification must be approved by the School Medical Director.
c. Employees exhausting accumulated sick leave who do not request personal illness leave of absence may be placed on inactive status for a period not to exceed one (1) year and then terminated pursuant to Civil Service Law and Regulations.
Extended Personal Illness. A member whose personal illness extends beyond the period of accumulated and extended sick leave, will be granted a leave of absence for such time as is necessary for recovery from such illness, up to a maximum of two (2) years. Such leave of absence shall be supported by physician’s certificate. Upon return from this leave, the member shall be required to furnish a doctor’s certification indicating fitness to return to employment. At the end of two (2) years, if the member is unable to return, the member’s employment may be terminated, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
Extended Personal Illness. The Employer, or its designee, shall grant a leave of absence for a period not to exceed a maximum of one (1) year to an employee who is unable to perform her regular duties because of personal illness, provided written certification of illness is received from a physician. Approved leave shall end upon the employee being certified by a physician as being able to return to work, or one (1) year, whichever is lesser. The employee shall have the option of using, or not using, any sick/vacation, business days prior to beginning the approved leave. Such leave of absence shall be without salary, increments, sick leave, vacation time and all other benefits with the following exception: the Employer agrees to continue premium payments on dental, vision and life insurance for a period not to exceed one (1) year.
Extended Personal Illness. 1. Any teacher whose personal illness extends beyond the period not compensated under Leave Pay, (Article X) shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period not to exceed one year renewable at the discretion of the Board.
2. Upon return from this leave a teacher shall be assigned to his/her same position if such position still exists. If the position does not still exist then assignment shall be made to the most nearly comparable position.

Extended Personal Illness. Any employee whose personal illness extends beyond the period compensated for above may be granted a leave of absence without pay or increment for up to a period of one (1) year. Thereafter such leaves shall be subject to annual review.
Extended Personal Illness. The Board shall grant professional personnel up to two (2) years leave of absence without pay for extended personal illness. A doctor's certificate shall be provided.
Extended Personal Illness. Whenever an absence due to personal illness exceeds the number of days for which a teacher is covered herein, the Board in its discretion may grant additional sick days in accordance with statute.

Any administrator whose personal illness extends beyond the period of accumulated and extended sick leave will, upon application, with the approval of the Superintendent, be granted a leave of absence, without pay, for such time as is necessary for complete recovery from such illness, up to a maximum of three (3) years. Such request for leave of absence shall be granted for one (1) year and must be supported by a physician’s certificate. At the end of the leave, the administrator may be dismissed, pursuant to tenure law.
2. Administrators returning to active service after such leave will, upon request, furnish the District with a doctor’s certification indicating fitness to return to full employment.
3. Administrators exhausting accumulated sick leave who do not request personal illness leave of absence may be placed on inactive status for a period not to exceed three (3) years and then dismissed for neglect of duty, pursuant to the tenure law.
