FUNERAL LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. SECTION 1 - Regular full-time employees shall be allowed up to three (3) days off with pay at straight time for the purpose of attending the funeral or memorial service and assisting in arrangements thereof in the event of a death in the employee’s immediate family, provided that such days fall between the date of death and the day after the funeral. During this time, the employee will be paid at regular rate for the period, provided it is within their regular shift. Immediate family shall be defined as Spouse, Common-law Spouse, Son, Daughter, Grandchildren, Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law. One (1) day off with pay shall be granted for death of Son-in-law, Daughter-in-law, Sister-in-law, Brother-in-law, Grandparents and Spouses Grandparents to attend the funeral or memorial service. In the case of Step Parents the Company will review the payment for the leave on a case by case basis. If a death occurs in the immediate family and an employee is called out of the plant, the employee shall be paid for the balance of the shift at the employee’s regular hourly work rate, provided that the amount does not exceed thirty-six (36) hours or twelve (12) hours when working 3 day x 12 hour shifts; twenty-four (24) hours or eight (8) hours when working 5 day x 8 hour shifts and thirty
FUNERAL LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 11.1 In the event of a death in the employee's immediate family (meaning father, mother, sister, brother, wife, child, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, grandparents, grandchildren, and all step relatives) an employee is absent from scheduled work due to the necessity of arranging for or attending the funeral of a member of his/her immediate family, the Employer shall pay him/her for eight (8) hours at his/her base hourly pay rate for each day of absence up to a maximum of three (3) days provided at least one of the days absent is the day of the funeral, and the employee notified the Employer of the reason for the absence not later than the first day of such absence. In the event of death of an employee's brother-in-law or sister-in-law and if an employee is absent from scheduled work due to the necessity of arranging for or attending the funeral of such brother-in-law or sister-in-law, the Employer shall pay the employee eight (8) hours at his/her base hourly pay rate for a maximum of one day provided that such day is the actual day of the funeral and the employee notified the Employer of the reason for the absence not later than the first day of such absence.

In the event of death of a Full-Time Employee's brother-in-law or sister-in-law and if an Employee is absent from scheduled work due to the necessity of arranging for or attending the funeral of such brother-in-law or sister-in-law, the Employer shall pay the Employee either eight (8) or (12) hours, depending on their scheduled shift, at the Employee’s base hourly pay rate for a maximum of one (1) day provided that such day is the actual day of the funeral and the Employee notified the Employer of the reason for the absence not later than the first day of such absence.

FUNERAL LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. Funeral leave as identified in Addendum A, shall be recognized as follows: All full-time and part-time employees who have a death in their immediate family, defined as their Mother, Father, Spouse, Son, Daughter, Grandparent, or a member of their immediate family through adoption or guardianship, shall be paid up to and including three (3) days’ pay at their Base Wage for time missed within one (1) week of the funeral. Stepparents shall be considered immediate family. Part-time employees shall receive pro-rated funeral leave based on the number of hours worked in the previous month, where every one hundred (100) hours worked equals eight (8) hours of funeral leave. Employees on any type of formal leave of absence, other than vacation, will not be eligible for "lost time wages" under the terms of this Article. Proof of death, such as a death certificate, a remembrance card, or an obituary notice, may be required by the Company. Jury duty as identified in Addendum A, shall be recognized as provided in this section. The Company agrees to provide leave for all employees called to jury duty. The Company will compensate eligible employees up to three (3) days per year for jury duty. Employees will be allowed to use sick pay and/or vacation pay for absences caused by jury duty of more than three (3) days. Employees are required to provide the Company documentary proof of jury duty service.

  • Funeral Leave Section 30.1 In the event of the death of a parent, spouse, child, sister, brother, mother-in- law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent of the Employee or spouse, grandchild of the Employee, or “xxxxxx” or “step” members within these relationships, the Employee shall be allowed a leave of absence with pay of two (2) consecutive (eight or ten hour) workdays.

  • General Leave Notwithstanding any provision for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee requesting leave for an emergency or other unusual circumstances. A leave of absence may also be granted for any other reason in which case approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. All requests and approvals for leave shall be in writing. Upon request, the Employer will give reasons orally for withholding approval.

  • General Leaves When no other leaves are available, a leave of absence may be granted to an employee on a paid or unpaid basis at any time upon any terms acceptable to the District and an employee.

  • Paid Jury or Court Witness Duty Leave The Employer shall grant leave of absence without loss of seniority to an Employee who serves as a juror or witness in any court. The Employer shall pay such an Employee the difference between normal earnings and the payment received for jury service or court witness, excluding payment for traveling, meals or other expenses. The Employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received. Time spent by an Employee required to serve as a court witness in any matter arising out of her employment, shall be considered as time worked at the appropriate rate of pay.

  • Jury Duty/Witness Leave The Employer shall grant leave of absence without loss of regular pay to an employee who serves as a juror, or is required by subpoena to attend a court of law or coroner’s inquest related to their employment at their employment at the Home, providing the employee:
