General Paid Holidays. (a) The following days shall be recognized as General Paid Holidays for the purposes of this Agreement: * New Years Day (January) Family Day (February) Good Friday Victoria Day Canada Day (Marc ) First Monday in August (August) Labour Day (September) Thanksgiving Day (October) Remembrance Day (November) Christmas Day (December) Boxing Day (December) *FamilyDay will be provided only as long as it is provincially approved for the current year. Victoria Day and the First Monday in August shall be treated as floating holiday days for the purpose of this agreement. These floater days must be and scheduled to be taken at a mutually agreeable date for the department and applicable plant operations. Floater days not requested to be scheduled within the current calendar year will be forfeited. Floater days requested and not scheduled due to production requirements will be paid at the employees regular master file rate at the end of the calendar year. An employee covered by this Agreement, subject to the conditions below, shall be entitled to straight time pay based on his normal hours of work for any of the General Paid Holidays covered by Section Sub-section (a) and provided; that the employee has been in the employment of the Company for thirty calendar (30) days during the previous twelve (1 2) months; that the employee worked his last full scheduled shift immediately preceding and succeeding the General Holiday and on the General Holiday it scheduled to work; that if the employee is unable to to work on the days identified in Section item because of-a bona fide illness or injury, he shall provide prior advice of his inability to work in the manner provided for in the Agreement and shall provide a medical certificate, that may be subject to verification by the company’s doctor, substantiating his inability to report to work because of the bona fide illness or injury. If an appropriate Governmental authority proclaims an additional General Paid Holiday during the term of this Agreement, Section Sub-section (a) shall be amended to include such General Paid Holiday so proclaimed.   • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • DESIGNATED PAID HOLIDAYS 11.01 Subject to clause 11.02, the following days shall be designated paid holidays for employees:

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.

  • STATUTORY HOLIDAYS 12.01 The following holidays shall be recognized as legal holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Dominion Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday

  • Unworked Holidays Eligible employees shall receive pay equal to their normal work shift at their base rate in effect at the time the holiday occurs. An employee who is on the active payroll on the holiday and has worked both the last scheduled shift preceding the holiday and the first scheduled shift succeeding the holiday shall be eligible for pay for such unworked holiday. An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee(s) can furnish proof, satisfactory to the District that because of illness they were unable to work on either of such shifts, and the absence previous to such holiday, by reason of such illness, has not been longer than 30 regular workdays, and they received sick pay for the day(s) missed.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Premium Holidays If the employer receives a premium holiday(s), the employees shall not be required to pay their portion of the premium(s) for the holiday month(s).

  • PLANT HOLIDAYS 6.01 All employees covered by this Agreement will receive eight (8) hours pay at their regular straight time rates for each of the following Plant Holidays (regardless of the day on which the holiday falls) in addition to any wages which they may be in receipt of for work performed on such holidays:

  • Special Holidays A Special Holiday is a holiday declared a holiday by the University for its employees other than a Saturday, Sunday, General (Statutory) Holiday or day declared by the University to be in lieu of a Statutory Holiday. The rate of pay for the Special Holiday shall be that which the employee would have received if she/he had worked.
