Grievance Procedure Step 2. ‌ If the dispute is not resolved orally, the aggrieved employee may, within 20 working days of the occurrence or of first learning of the occurrence, submit a written grievance as follows:

Grievance Procedure Step 2. If the employee is not satisfied after his discussion with the Coordinator on shift, he shall, according to Article 8.06 and within fourteen (14) days of the event giving rise to the grievance, file his grievance in writing on the appropriate form. During that same period of time, the Chief Xxxxxxx or his representative must present it to the person in charge of the workplace or his representative. The grievance must include a statement of the alleged violation and indicate the settlement sought. Within the following seven (7) calendar days, the Chief Xxxxxxx or his representative will meet the person in charge of the workplace or his representative in an attempt to solve the grievance. Within five (5) calendar days following that meeting, the person in charge of the workplace or his designated representative must submit his decision in writing.
Grievance Procedure Step 2. (a) If the dispute is not resolved at Step 1, the Association representative shall notify the office of the Authority Department Head (Maintenance, Transportation or Manager of Paratransit Services) within ten (10) days of the Step 1 decision and a meeting shall be scheduled within five (5) days for the Step 2 hearing at the appropriate garage. A written decision shall be rendered within five (5) days of the hearing.
Grievance Procedure Step 2. Within five (5) days from the expiration of the five (5) day period referred to in Grievance Procedure Step 1, the grievance may be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors accompanied by any proposed settlement of the grievance and any replies at Grievance Procedure Step 1. The Board of Directors or delegate shall reply to the grievance in writing within five (5) days following the next Board meeting. If no Board meeting is held within thirty (30) days of the date on which the Grievance Procedure Step 2 was submitted, the Union may refer the grievance to Arbitration under Article 15.
Grievance Procedure Step 2. In the event the employee is not satisfied with the written decision of the Department Head provided in Step #1, he or she may within five (5) working days of the receipt of same, submit the grievance in writing to the Town Council. Within thirty (30) working days of receipt of the grievance, a meeting shall be held at which the following persons shall attend: the Mayor, all members of Council, the employee and the employee’s xxxxxxx or other representative of CUPE. Not later than ten (10) working days following this meeting, the Clerk of the Corporation shall respond to the grievance in writing on behalf of the Corporation.
Grievance Procedure Step 2. If the grievance is not successfully resolved at Step 1 within 30 days, the grievance shall be submitted in writing to the Manager or the employer designate. The parties shall exchange written summaries of their position upon receipt of such grievance, and shall have 20 working days following receipt of such grievance to effect a mutually satisfactory settlement of the grievance. If the grievance is not settled within 20 working days at Step 2, the grievance shall be submitted to a board of arbitration for final and conclusive determination.

Within five (5) calendar days following this meeting, the General Manager, or his designee, shall deliver to the Union his answer in writing.
