HOLIDAYS DESCRIPTION OF HOLIDAY Fixed Floating. 1 January 1st X 2 The third Monday in January, known as Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx. Day X 3 Lincoln Day X 4 The third Monday in February, known as President’s Day X 5 The last Monday in May, known as Memorial Day X 6 June 19th, known as Juneteenth X 7 July 4th X 8 The first Monday in September, known as Labor Day X 9 Employee’s Birthday X 10 November 11th, known as Veteran’s Day X 11 Thanksgiving X 12 Friday after Thanksgiving X 13 The last half of the normal work shift before Christmas X 14 December 25th X 10.1 Regular employees, except as otherwise provided herein, shall be entitled to have the following holiday time off with pay: 10.2 If any of the foregoing holidays falls on a Sunday, the Monday following shall be observed as the holiday, except by those employees who are regularly scheduled to work on Sunday other than on an overtime basis. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work on Sundays shall observe such holidays on Sunday. If any of the foregoing holidays falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as the holiday, except by those employees who are regularly scheduled to work on Saturday other than on an overtime basis. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work on Saturdays shall observe such holidays on Saturday. If any of the foregoing holidays falls on any day from Monday through Friday, inclusive, and that day is a regularly scheduled non-workday for an employee, such employee shall be entitled to receive another workday off with pay, to be scheduled in the same manner as vacation days are normally scheduled. 10.3 An employee may observe the employee’s birthday holiday on the employee’s birthday or anytime during the pay period in which the birthday occurs, or the holiday may be deferred and scheduled as vacations are normally scheduled. Floating holidays shall be scheduled by employees and the employee’s supervisor in the same manner as vacations are normally scheduled.   • List of Holidays The Employer recognizes the following paid holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Christmas Day Easter Monday Boxing Day Victoria Day Civic Holiday (deferred to Christmas Shutdown) Canada Day Plus, any other day(s) declared or proclaimed as a Statutory Holiday by the Federal or Provincial Government. The Employer shall post a list no later than December 15th of each year stating on which day the Civic Holiday and any other deferred holiday will be observed.

  • Number of Holidays (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only)

  • HOLIDAYS THAT FALL ON A SATURDAY For those employees assigned to a work week of Monday through Friday, and in the event a legal holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as a holiday; provided, however, that except where the Governor declares that such preceding Friday shall be a legal holiday, each department head shall make provision for the staffing of public offices under his/her jurisdiction on such preceding Friday so that said public offices may serve the public. Those employees who work on a Friday which is observed as a holiday in lieu of a holiday falling on Saturday shall be allowed a day off in lieu thereof as scheduled by the appointing officer in the current fiscal year.

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • GENERAL HOLIDAYS 8.01 The following days shall be considered as General Holidays. An employee’s pay for a general holiday shall be as set out in Articles 8.03 and 8.04 below and Article 6.03: New Year’s Day Labour Day Xxxxx Xxxx Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday and any other day or portion of a day generally observed by the retail grocery and meat stores and designated as a holiday by the Company. 8.02 In order for a full-time or part-time employee to receive pay for a general holiday, they must: (1) not have been voluntarily absent from work on the scheduled work day prior to and following such holiday; (2) have worked their full, regular designated weekly hours for the week in which holidays, a holiday, or portion of a holiday occur, except for bona-fide illness. Any employee on leave of absence (except employees disentitled for general holiday pay as set out in the following paragraph) granted by the Company, at the request of the employee, shall not qualify for a general holiday with pay if they are absent on both their last scheduled work day prior to, and their first scheduled work day following the general holiday. Any employee receiving a payment under the Company’s Weekly Indemnity Benefit Plan, or Workers Compensation, for the full week in which the General Holiday(s) occurs, and requests for time off for vacation purposes as set out in Article 11.16, shall not be entitled to general holiday pay. 8.03 Eligible full-time employees shall suffer no reduction in their pay for a general holiday as set out in 8.01 above. 8.04 Eligible part-time employees shall be compensated as follows: (a) All part-time employees who have been employed thirty (30) calendar days or more and have worked an average of at least thirty-two (32) hours or more per week in the four (4) weeks preceding the week in which a general holiday occurs, shall receive eight (8) hours’ pay at their regular, hourly rate for each holiday. (b) All part-time employees who have been employed thirty (30) calendar days or more and have worked an average of at least twenty (20) hours a week, but less than thirty-two (32) hours per week in the four

  • Floating Holidays In addition to the authorized days in 9.2. each employee, including each academic employee, shall be authorized two (2) floating holidays of his/her choice per fiscal year.

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.
