Hours of Work Normal Workweek. The normal workweek for full‐time employees is forty (40) hours, consisting of five (5) consecu‐ tive days of eight (8) hours each, excluding meal period, Monday through Friday. Employees will be assigned regularly set starting and quitting times. The normal workweek for part‐time employees is defined in the initial letter of employment or in a written notice to the employee any time thereafter. The normal workday for field employees is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a thirty‐minute lunch break at/or near 11:30 a.m. Paid breaks of fifteen minutes near midmorning and near mid‐after‐ noon are provided. The normal workday for office employees is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one‐hour lunch break at/or near the middle of the day. Paid breaks of fifteen minutes near midmorning and near mid‐afternoon are provided. Flex-Time Employees are permitted to work flex‐time schedules provided that the schedule has been ap‐ proved in advance by the employee’s supervisor and by the General Manager. Flex‐time is de‐ fined as a workday with a starting/ending time that is different from the normal workday sched‐ ule. The General Manager may require an employee to return to a normal workday schedule at any time based upon operational needs. Alternative Schedule Employees are permitted to work alternative schedules provided that the schedule has been ap‐ proved in advance by the employee’s supervisor, and by the General Manager. Alternative schedules include changes to the normal workweek, such as 9/80 or 4/10 schedules. The District ensures that no employee is scheduled to work more than 40 hours in any 168 hour period (week). The General Manager may require an employee to return to a normal schedule at any time based upon operational needs. Telecommuting Employees may be permitted to telecommute for a portion of the workweek upon approval of the employee’s supervisor and the General Manager. Any employee approved for telecommut‐ ing will be available by both phone and email during the employee’s regularly scheduled work hours. The General Manager may discontinue the approval to telecommute at any time. The General Manager may establish or change alternate, flex and/or regularly scheduled tele‐ work within the guidelines of the MOU and existing law and policy. Attendance Regular, on‐time attendance during all scheduled hours of work is required of all employees. Hours of Work Normal Workweek. Except as provided elsewhere in this Agreement, the normal workweek for full-time employees shall be forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday. This is not a guarantee of forty (40) hours per week. The normal workday will begin at 7:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m. with a one (1) hour unpaid lunch break. The normal workweek for regular part-time employees will vary but not exceed 40 hours per week. The Employer shall attempt to give full-time employees a thirty (30) minute paid rest period during the first one-half shift which may be taken at the Utility building. The break will begin when the work stops and will end when the work resumes. Except in an emergency, an unpaid meal period shall be scheduled for employees who work more than five (5) hours in any given day.

  • 00 - HOURS OF WORK 14.01 The Employer does not guarantee to provide work to any employee for regularly assigned hours or any other hours, except as provided for in Article 18.00. Eight (8) hours shall constitute a normal day of work. The normal hours of work shall be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for an eight (8) hour day, with one-half or one hour for lunch at the midpoint of the shift. Forty (40) hours shall constitute a normal week's work, Monday through Friday inclusive.   • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME (Subject to implementation instructions, the following clauses will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provision related to the Work Week and Work Day, Rest Periods, Overtime Definitions, Overtime/Callback Accumulation, Missed Meal Breaks, Meal Allowance, Time Off Between Shifts, and Change of Schedule that existed in the Hospital’s expiring collective agreement:)
