HOURS OF WORK, OVERTIME AND HOLIDAY PREMIUM PAY. Section 4.0 The basic workday for the Department of Public Works employees covered by, this agreement shall be eight (8) hours a day, five (5) days a week, Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m., with one-half (½) hour off for lunch from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m., except for custodians, who shall work a basic workday which hours shall be mutually agreed upon by the Town and the individual employee. HOURS OF WORK, OVERTIME AND HOLIDAY PREMIUM PAY. 4.0 Hours of Work - The Board reserves the right to change shift schedules by up to one hour after prior consultation with the Union. Shift schedule changes of more than one hour are permitted with the agreement of the Union. The regular work week shall be as follows: Custodians: Day Shift - 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Night Shift - 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Modified Night Shift - 1:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. During scheduled non-school days & summertime - 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. If a night shift custodian wishes to work a modified night shift on early dismissal days, the custodian may make such a request to his/her supervisor, who may approve such a request.

  • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME (Subject to implementation instructions, the following clauses will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provision related to the Work Week and Work Day, Rest Periods, Overtime Definitions, Overtime/Callback Accumulation, Missed Meal Breaks, Meal Allowance, Time Off Between Shifts, and Change of Schedule that existed in the Hospital’s expiring collective agreement:)

  • OVERTIME AND HOLIDAY PAY 5.3.1 All hours worked by an employee in excess of eight (8) hours per shift and in excess of forty (40) straight time hours per week shall be paid for at the rate of one and one-half times the straight time rate. All hours worked by an employee in excess of ten (10) hours per shift and all hours worked on Sunday shall be paid at the rate of double the straight time rate.

  • OVERTIME AND HOLIDAYS 5.1 An Employer may require employees to perform work in excess of their regularly assigned hours. All time worked by an employee before and after his regular shift on Monday to Friday inclusive, except as provided in Article 4 and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of double time. Double time shall continue for all hours worked until the employee has had eight (8) consecutive hours off or longer if mutually agreed to by the employer and the employee.

  • Work Day/Work Week 1. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday of no more than eight (8) hours per day and no more than forty (40) hours per work week. This shall not restrict the extension of the employee’s usual and customary workday or workweek when such is necessary to carry on the business of the School District. Employees who actually work more than forty (40) hours per week will receive overtime pay (time-and-a-half).

  • Holiday Worked In addition to Subsection A above, employees will be compensated for the hours actually worked on a holiday at the overtime rate, in accordance with Article 17, Overtime.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Workday/Workweek A. The normal workweek for each full-time employee shall be forty (40) hours.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Four Day Work Week 26 1. If a holiday falls on an employee's first or second scheduled day 27 off, the preceding work day will be observed as that employee's holiday, or the 28 employee may choose to bank the holiday leave hours.

  • Workweek A regularly re-occurring period of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours consisting of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. Workweeks will normally begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday or as otherwise designated by the appointing authority. If there is a change in their workweek, employees will be given written notification by the appointing authority or their designee.
