In-District. CERTIFICATED EMPLOYEE is defined as an employee employed in a position that requires an Idaho Education Credential. Before August 15th of each year: Any in-district certificated employee who desires to apply for a posted certificated position shall submit to the HR Department: 1) a current resume to remain on file for one year and 2) submit a written statement of such desire for each position by the closing date and time. The employee will be expected to notify current supervisor of their application. In filling vacancies, preference shall be given to qualified in-district certificated employees who are in good standing. When all other factors are substantially equal, length of contracted time in this School District shall be the deciding factor in filling the vacancy  Preference shall mean that a qualified in-district certificated employee’s application shall be given to the screening committee without any prescreening mechanism.  Prescreening mechanism will be defined as prescreening interviews or any other prescreening score sheet that limits the applications given to the screening committee.  Qualified will be defined as an employee holds an appropriate endorsement and meets the Federal definition of highly qualified status, if required.  Certificated will be defined as employee who is currently working in a position that requires certification and a State approved employment contract.  Good standing will be defined as an employee who is not on disciplinary probation or professional assistance. In-district applicants not selected for an interview or for the position shall receive a telephone call from the hiring administrators. If the hiring administrator is not able to speak directly with the applicant after two (2) attempts, then a written response will be sent. An in-district applicant who was interviewed but not selected will be granted a conference by the hiring administrator upon request. On or after August 15th of each year: 1) In-district candidates may not be considered and 2) the five (5) day posting minimum may be waived.

In-District. An employee whose assignment requires travel between schools or travel within the District on school business will either have a school vehicle assigned on a regular basis or will be compensated on a per mile basis at the maximum allowable mileage rate recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a deductible business expense.
In-District. Intra-district travel will be reimbursed on mileage computed for educators who travel between schools on a regular established route, based on an agreed upon mileage chart by the district and the exclusive representative. For those educators who do not have an established route but who travel the district and community as needed, on district business, the choice will be given to the educator to keep and maintain a mileage log for reimbursement or to accept a stipend. The base rate for the stipend will be that set for each school year based on the mileage between buildings and the number of trips each week. The mileage will be adjusted at the rate established by the Internal Revenue Service effective at the beginning of each school year following that base rate. Mileage or stipends will be paid to the educator in semi-annual payments in December and May, for their established assignment. Following the establishment of the estimated mileage, the exclusive representative will sign her/his approval to the roster prepared by the Human Resources Office. However, it is agreed that the amount can be adjusted, discontinued or established by the Superintendent with agreement by the exclusive representative due to new assignments or reassignments.
In-District. The sporadic transportation of eligible students or other passengers (public or parochial) within the District boundary area. Such trips are further defined as In-District Elementary or In-District Secondary. All parochial trips are classified as In-District secondary.

In-District. Assignment Leave Employees who apply for and are appointed by the District to quasi-administrative positions may be granted a leave of absence for up to one (1) full school year. During such leaves, the District shall make salary payments to and insurance and other benefits contributions on behalf of the employee as if he/she were not on leave of absence. Credit for state retirement shall be granted on the basis of the rules and regulations as governed by that system.
In-District. In the case of a qualified, in-district applicant covered by this bargaining agreement for any given position, the following shall apply:
In-District. The District shall communicate anticipated Paraprofessional vacancies within the District for the following school year by way of a posting on or about March 15th. Such posting shall be referred to as the “District-Wide Posting.” The District-Wide posting shall be active for a minimum of five (5) work days. The District-Wide posting shall be posted on the District’s website and a copy shall be sent to the Federation President via email. The posting will link to the Program Guide and will include the student hours as well as a reminder that Paraprofessionals may be required to work additional time pursuant to Article 4, section P. Interested and qualified Paraprofessionals may apply for such anticipated vacancies by completing a District-Wide Posting application form for each position to which he/she is applying and by submitting it/them to the Director of Human Capital Services within the time period listed on the posting. The Principal will review all timely submitted District-Wide application forms. The Principal shall interview the three (3) most senior qualified applicants but may choose to interview additional applicants. After such review and interviews, the Principal may, but is not required to, select one of the applicants for the position and such applicant will be notified in writing or by email of his/her selection.
