Assignments/Reassignments. 15.6.1 A bargaining unit member may request a reassignment.
15.6.2 Reassignments may be initiated by the administration and shall be based exclusively on the educationally-related needs of the District.
15.6.2.1 If a bargaining unit member is reassigned for educationally-related needs of the District, the bargaining unit member shall be provided written reason(s) for the reassignment.
15.6.3 Each bargaining unit member will be notified of his/her assignment for the coming year by the end of the instructional year. If there is a change after the initial notification, the bargaining unit member will be notified by certified mail sent to his/her last known address.
15.6.4 Bargaining unit members reassigned within the 10 days prior to the commencement of the work year shall be provided reasonable assistance in moving and curricular assistance. Bargaining unit members reassigned after the commencement of the work year also shall be provided reasonable classroom support. For the purposes of this section 15.6.4 only, a reassignment shall include a change of room or office.
Assignments/Reassignments. 1. All newly appointed employees shall be given an assignment at the time of employment, or as soon as practicable.
2. Assignments are subject to change at any given time due to unanticipated changes in enrollment, staffing patterns, course offerings, or teacher qualifications.
3. Personnel shall be reassigned first, in accordance with the needs of the District; second, where the administration feels the employee is most qualified to serve; third, as to expressed preference of employees in order of seniority in the District, all other considerations being equal.
4. An employee who is directed by administration to change the physical location of their work space (Classroom or Office) shall be compensated for twenty-one (21) hours of time at the current curriculum rate $31.33 plus ten ($10) dollars for each of the twenty- one hours.
5. An employee who is directed by administration to change their teaching assignment after the beginning of a term (Grade Level or Class Schedule) shall be compensated for seven (7) hours of time at the current curriculum rate for each of the seven hours.
6. All assignments will be given as soon as reasonably possible.
Assignments/Reassignments. Reorganization/ Transfers
Assignments/Reassignments. A. The Superintendent/designee retains under this Contract the sole authority and discretion to assign and reassign employees, except as such authority may be specifically limited by this Contract. Assignments/reassignments shall be based on the staffing needs of the agency and/or for performance reasons, and shall not be for arbitrary or capricious reasons. In the case of a reassignment of six (6) work days or more, an employee who has not requested such a reassignment will have the opportunity to discuss the reassignment, and the reasons therefore with the Superintendent prior to the reassignment.
B. School-age employees to be reassigned shall be informed, in writing, of the proposed reassignment including specific reasons for said reassignment and will be given at least three (3) work days’ notice. If reassignment involves a change of schedule, the employee shall be given ten (10) work days’ notice.
C. An employee may not be involuntarily reassigned to a position outside the employee's job classification.
D. An employee who has been reassigned shall not be responsible for his/her original responsibilities that were not performed during the reassignment.
E. Employees will be notified of an open position in a particular building or enclave three (3) work days after the position has been vacated by resignation/retirement or dismissal. Employees should notify their supervisor, in writing, of their interest in the position. Indication of interest is no guarantee of assignment.

B. If a reassignment becomes necessary, a minimum of ten (10) days written notice shall be given to the employee involved prior to the reassignment, unless an emergency situation exists.

Assignments/Reassignments. 12.5.1 Reasons for assignments/reassignments of unit members may include, but are not limited to, the following:
12.5.1.1 An increase/decrease in the number of pupils which requires an increase/decrease in the number of unit members pursuant to Article 11: Class Size; elimination and/or addition or change of program(s) and/or funding; boundary changes; or school openings.
12.5.2 A good faith effort shall be made to give each unit member a written notice of his/her next year’s tentative assignment/reassignment by the final day of the school year. These notices of assignment/reassignment are tentative and subject to change contingent on staffing needs as determined by the administrator. Any change in tentative assignment/reassignment is not subject to the grievance procedure provided this Agreement is not otherwise violated.
12.5.3 When a vacancy occurs at a school site during the school year, unit members shall be notified of the vacancy so that assignment/reassignment consideration can be given to interested unit members before transfers or candidates from outside the District are considered. It shall be the unit member’s responsibility to inform their site administrator of his/her assignment/reassignment preferences so that consideration can be given. Unit members will be assigned/reassigned to positions where they will serve most
12.5.4 Assignments/reassignments shall not be made for capricious or arbitrary reasons. No unit member shall be assigned/reassigned as a result of disciplinary action or for a negative evaluation received within the past school year.
Assignments/Reassignments. The JATC, or its subcommittee, shall be responsible for the assignment, or reassignment, of all telecommunications installer/technician apprentices. All such job-training assignments, or reassignments, shall be made in writing, and the local union referral office shall be notified, in writing, of all job-training assignments. The JATC, or its subcommittee, shall have the authority to transfer any apprentice as it deems necessary or appropriate.

Assignments/Reassignments. 9.10.1 Unit members shall have the opportunity to apply for an assignment for which they are qualified.
9.10.2 Unit members at elementary school sites shall not ordinarily be administratively assigned to a new grade level more than two (2) consecutive years in any three (3) year period.
9.10.3 Unit members at middle school and high school sites shall not ordinarily be administratively assigned out of their subject area(s) more than two (2) consecutive years in any three (3) year period.
9.10.4 Vision specialists, orientation and mobility specialists, K-5 elementary physical education teachers, adapted physical education specialists, elementary music teachers, and nurses will be reassigned as though the entire District is their work location, in accordance with Article 9.
