Jury Duty Leaves. Absence for jury service by an Employee is recognized by the Employer as approved leave and will not be chargeable to accumulated sick leave. The employee who serves on jury duty shall receive his/her pay from the employer, the unit member shall submit to the payroll department the endorsed juror fee check.

Jury Duty Leaves. 1. All school employees who are called to jury duty shall notify the Superintendent as soon as notice is received. Employees shall request the court to defer jury duty whenever possible to the summer months. The Superintendent will confirm and support such requests when necessary.
Jury Duty Leaves. Teachers called for jury duty during work hours shall inform the Superintendent of such notice the first working day after it is received. A bargaining unit member required to serve during work hours shall be required to remit to the Board all compensation received of the court for his/her service as a juror.

The Employer's obligation to pay an employee for performance of jury duty under this section is limited to a maximum of sixty (60) days in any calendar year. In order to receive payment under this section, an employee must give the Employer prior notice that he has been summoned for jury duty and must furnish satisfactory evidence that jury duty was performed on the days for which he claims such payment. The provisions of this section are not applicable to any employee who, without being summoned, volunteers for jury duty.

Jury Duty Leaves. When an employee serves on jury duty, the employee will be granted the day or days necessary as stipulated by the court, to discharge this civic responsibility without loss of pay. Any compensation the employee receives from the court shall be remitted to the District; however, the employee may retain the expense reimbursement.

  • Jury Duty Leave A regular, limited-term or probationary employee who is called for jury duty or for examination for jury duty shall be compensated at the employee's regular rate of pay for those hours of absence due to the jury duty which occur during the employee's regularly scheduled working hours provided the employee deposits the employee's fees for such hours of jury duty, exclusive of mileage, with the County Treasurer. Fees for jury duty performed during hours other than regularly scheduled working hours may be retained by the employee.   • Court Duty Leave Any teacher who is called for jury duty or is a subpoenaed court witness shall receive a leave of absence to fulfill his/her civil obligation. The teacher will be paid the difference between his/her full pay as a teacher and compensation for jury duty or as a witness. Evidence of both services and remuneration is to be provided by the teacher. Court duty leave does not apply to employees who have a need to appear in court for personal matters or because of litigation against the school corporation.
