Lack of work on a holiday. If a department anticipates a lack of work on or adjacent to a holiday, it shall make a reasonable effort to so notify employees. When there is a general closing of a department for a day, on or adjacent to a holiday, the Employer will not be expected to grant the right to work to any employee in that department on that day. However, when work is available, an employee may make up the time, upon approval of the manager, provided it is in the same work week or extended work week and the work does not result in the payment of overtime.

Nurses will not suffer the loss of any fringe benefits as a result of not working one 33 of their scheduled working days at the request of Hospital, except as specifically 34 provided otherwise in this Agreement. 1 K.   • Work on a Holiday Employees required to work on days recognized as holidays which fall within their regular work schedules shall be entitled, in addition to their regular monthly salary, to compensatory time off, or to be paid in cash as provided in Articles 32.1-32.5 (Overtime). Compensatory time off or cash paid for all time worked shall be at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½). The rate at which an employee shall be paid for working on a holiday shall not exceed the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) his/her straight time rate of pay.

  • Compensation for Work on a Holiday (a) Where an Employee is regularly scheduled to work, in accordance with Article 14, and their regularly scheduled day of work falls on a paid holiday, as defined in Article 18.01, they shall receive compensation equal to two and one-half (2 ½) times their regular rate of pay as follows: (i) compensation at one and one-half (1½) times their regular rate of pay, including the holiday pay, for the hours worked on the holiday; and (ii) time off with pay in lieu of the holiday on an hour-for-hour basis at a mutually acceptable time in accordance with Article 18.11.   • Working on a Holiday An employee who is required to work on a holiday shall be paid at the rate of straight time plus time and one-half (1 1/2).

  • Payment for Working on a Holiday (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only)

  • Payment for Working Overtime on a Holiday Where an employee is required to work authorized overtime in excess of his regularly scheduled hours on a paid holiday, such employee shall receive twice (2x) his regular straight time hourly rate for such authorized overtime.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.
