LUNCH/REST PERIODS. Employees shall be granted two (2) fifteen (15) minute paid breaks, one during the first half of the workday and one during the second half of the workday. The time of the breaks will be approved by the supervisor depending upon the nature of the work being performed at that time.
LUNCH/REST PERIODS. Employees who work a scheduled shift of seven (7) hours or more, will be provided with a one-half (1/2) hour unpaid lunch break. The time of the lunch break will be scheduled by the supervisor. However, the scheduled lunch period, with the approval of the supervisor, may change depending upon the nature of the work being performed at the time. Employees who work a scheduled shift of seven (7) hours or more will be provided with two (2) fifteen (15) minute paid breaks, one in the first half of their shift and one in the second half of their shift. Breaks will be scheduled by the supervisor. Employees who work a scheduled shift of four (4) hours to four and one half (4.5) hours will be provided with one (1) fifteen (15) minute paid break, which will be scheduled as close to the midpoint of the shift as is practicable. Employees who work a scheduled shift of five (5) hours to six and one half (6.5) hours will be provided with one (1) twenty (20) minute paid break, which will be scheduled as close to the midpoint of the shift as is practicable. If an employee is denied a break, or ordered to finish an assignment with a resident, the employee shall be compensated fifteen (15) minutes as compensatory time. The Supervisor shall provide the employee with a written acknowledgement of the work through break. If an employee is required to work through their lunch break by their supervisor, the employee shall be compensated one-half (1/2) hour as pay or if mutually agreeable as compensatory time. The Supervisor shall provide the employee with a written acknowledgement of the work through their lunch.
LUNCH/REST PERIODS. 10.01 Each employee shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute break with pay during each half shift at approximately the midpoint of the half shift. Employees on a short shift of four (4) hours shall have one (1) fifteen (15) minute break with pay at approximately the mid-point of the short shift. Except in cases of emergency, these breaks shall not be interrupted.
10.02 Staff will be allowed to take one-half (½) hour unpaid, uninterrupted lunch period when scheduled for any shift of more than five (5) hours. If it is interrupted by the Employer or by resident demands, the Employer agrees to allow the employee to take time off later in the shift and if the same cannot be arranged, to pay the employee for time lost at regular hourly rates. This provision does not apply in the case of emergency. Any payment for an interrupted lunch must be authorized by the supervisor or, in the event no supervisor is in the home, by the nurse in charge. Such authorization shall not be unreasonably withheld.
10.03 Employees shall be able to take their breaks in a staff room set aside for that purpose.
LUNCH/REST PERIODS. Employees on each shift shall have a lunch period on the employee’s time of thirty (30) minutes; such employees shall also have a rest period on Company time of thirty (30) minutes; employees on an operation scheduled for three back-to-back eight-hour shifts shall have a lunch period on the Company’s time of twenty-five (25) minutes; such employees shall have a rest period on Company time of twenty-five (25) minutes. Rest or lunch periods shall not be scheduled before the end of the first hour worked, the first rest or lunch period shall be completed by the halfway point of the normally scheduled shift, and lunch periods shall not be advanced or delayed by more than one hour unless tag relief is utilized. LUNCH/REST PERIODS. 3.2.1 School Police Officers are authorized a 30-minute meal period who work at least four (4) consecutive hours of service and are on-call during this time.

3. Employees working 4 to 6 hours daily shall be entitled to a ten (10) minute paid rest period during their workday. Employees working more than 6 hours shall be entitled to two (2) ten (10) minute paid rest periods during their workday.
4. Rest periods will be scheduled by the Principal/Supervisor or designee.
5. Rest periods cannot be "saved up" to report to work late or to leave work early or combined with a lunch period except as provided in Article 9 section A.4.

2. Employees shall be granted a one-half (½) hour unpaid lunch break. Unless the requirements of the job dictate otherwise, employees who begin the day at 6:30 a.m. will take lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and employees who begin the day at 8:00 a.m. will take lunch from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. Employees must punch out when going on lunch break and punch in when returning to work, except when at a remote location without electronic time collection, such as Division of Transportation, or Animal Control. Employees may leave the workplace during lunch break.
