Meal and Rest Period. 15.01 A meal period, with pay, for employees working on a daily shift of seven (7) or more hours shall be thirty (30) minutes in duration and shall not start earlier than three (3) hours, nor later than five (5) hours after commencement of the employee's shift, unless the employee is required to respond or is involved in an emergency situation. Employees shall be entitled to two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods, with pay, for same seven (7) hour shift, which shall be taken approximately in the middle of each one-half of the shift.
15.02 It shall be the onus of the employee to take their rest periods and meal periods when possible and practical consistent with their responsibilities to the clients. Impact management will attempt to negotiate with each client an arrangement which would allow the security guards his meal period and rest period, if possible, away from his work station by way of replacement by one of the client’s employees or by agreement to allow the guard site to be vacant during meal and rest periods. If the client is unwilling to negotiate terms as per above, only then will the guard be required to take his meal and/or rest periods at his work station at times as determined by the guard. If an employee has difficulty taking rest and/or meal periods because of client responsibilities at any time, the employee will report these difficulties to his supervisor for review with the client. If client responsibilities require that an employee interrupt a rest or meal period, the employee shall be entitled to take the remainder of the rest or meal period after the interruption or at such later time as is possible and practical.
15.03 Employees will remain on the work site at all times during the meal periods and rest periods.
15.04 If an employee is required to work beyond the completion of an eight
Meal and Rest Period. For every five (5) hours worked on any day, Employee shall have an unpaid meal period of 30 minutes. Employee shall also take a paid rest period of ten minutes for every 3½ hours worked on any day. During meal and rest period, Employee is completely relieved of work duties.

The meal provisions of Articles 14.13(D) and 15.03 are replaced as follows: Each work day will consist of twenty-four (24) hours and will include two (2) paid lunch periods of one-half (1/2) hour. It is assumed that these paid meal breaks are taken unless the member notes the missed meal breaks on his or her timesheet. Two fifteen (15) minute breaks will be allowed when circumstances permit, as provided in Article 15.02. Management will allow for eight (8) hours of sleep/rest period in each full 24 hour work day that is scheduled. All hours in pay status will count towards the 212-hour work period. The department shall provide common sleeping quarters for the officers which will consist of individual beds, mattresses, and sheets. The member will provide their own blankets and pillows. The Department will adopt practices that will contribute to a quiet and undisturbed rest period in the sleeping quarters.

Meal and Rest Period. A. Rest Period - Each RN shall be granted a rest period of fifteen (15) minutes during each four hours of his/her shift without deduction in pay. Rest periods may not be combined with the meal period to extend the meal period. RN’s do not need to record this time.
B. If the RN is unable to take the break because of urgent (e.g. hypersensitivity reaction) patient care duties, and not due to the RN’s choice, the RN must notify the Supervisor through any means available (email or in person) as soon as they become aware that they are unable to take a break, and have an opportunity to communicate the matter to her/his Supervisor.
C. In the event urgent patient care duties, and not a RN’s choice, force an RN to forego a rest period or duty free meal period, the RN must record “missed rest/meal period” on the timecard. An RN who has missed one or both rest periods, or a meal period, shall receive one hour of premium pay. However, if an RN is provided the opportunity for a rest period and voluntarily elects not to take it, no premium payment applies.
D. Meal Period - Each RN shall be granted an unpaid, duty free meal period of no less than 30 minutes as close to the middle of each eight (8) hour work period as practical, but no later than the start of the fifth hour, unless the RN has a valid Flexible Meal Period agreement on file. Meals may be taken outside of the clinic.

It is assumed that these paid meal breaks are taken unless the member notes the missed meal breaks on his or her timesheet. Two fifteen (15) minute breaks will be allowed when circumstances permit, as provided in Article 16.02.
Meal and Rest Period. Employees working five (5) or more hours in a day shall receive a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period. The Employer shall utilize its best efforts to authorize all employees to take meal periods towards the middle of their shift. Provided however, it is agreed that business needs shall take priority in any situation and that employees may desire not to take their meal periods towards the middle of their shift. Rest periods, which shall be paid, will be provided on the basis of ten (10) minutes for four (4) hours working time or majority fraction thereof.
Meal and Rest Period. Meal periods involuntarily missed may be flexed and Courtroom and Jury Staff can also flex involuntarily missed rest periods. • Part-‐time employee insurance: New employees or current employees going to part-‐time after 1-‐1-‐2017 will have their benefits pro-‐rated.
Meal and Rest Period. The regular meal period for all employees covered by this Agreement shall be one hour without pay. All meal periods may be scheduled by the Library. Each employee shall be entitled to one twenty (20) minute Rest period during each half of the day. Rest periods shall normally be taken toward the middle of each half-day except in working units where personnel are required at all times. In such working units, rest periods shall be assigned with preference to the employee's seniority. Rest periods shall not be cumulative on a day-to-day or any other basis. In the event of occasional unusual circumstances, an employee and his or her immediate supervisor may be allowed to make other suitable arrangements regarding meal periods and rest periods.
