(a) The time away from work for rest periods shall be as specified in Clause 14.4 of the Master Agreement, and for meal periods in accordance with appropriate work schedule.
(b) Recognized meal periods will be within the middle two hours of the workday or shift. Employees with recognized meal periods who are required to work continuously within the middle two hours shall be paid one and one-half times the base rate for the duration of the recognized meal period and will be given a meal period with pay at another time in the shift or workday.
(c) Employees who are required to eat their meals at their place of work and are subject to interruption to perform their duties during the meal period, shall have the meal period scheduled with pay within their workday.
(d) Provided that the limits for the meal and rest periods are not exceeded, employees may leave their workplace to take such breaks. However, where an employee chooses to leave their workplace the Employer shall not be responsible for their transportation.
(e) Time spent in preparation of meals will be considered time worked provided that the meals are for other employees and that the time spent is previously authorized by the Employer.
(f) Where employees live in camp facilities provided by the Employer and are normally provided with a hot meal at the end of the shift, the Employer will provide a hot meal or a satisfactory meal which can be heated in the event that the employee is late for the meal time through no fault of their own.

8.5.3 All bargaining unit employees working six (6) hours or more per day shall have a scheduled unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes at approximately the middle of the workday.

Section 15.2. All employees shall be granted thirty (30) minutes during each full-time shift worked for an unpaid meal period near the middle of the shift. If employees have their meal period interrupted, the meal period shall resume after the interruption.
Rest Periods and Meal Periods. Employees shall take rest and meal breaks during working hours as prescribed in the following paragraphs and provided under applicable law. Subject to this Article, breaks are scheduled at the supervisor's discretion.
A. Employees shall be allowed one (1) rest period of fifteen (15) minutes duration for each scheduled work segment of four hours (or major part thereof). In so far as is practicable, the rest period shall be in the middle of each work segment, such time to begin when the employee leaves their work station and will end when the employee returns to their work station. Rest periods shall be granted without loss of pay.
B. Employees assigned work periods of six (6) continuous hours or more shall be allowed unpaid meal periods which shall not be less than thirty (30) minutes, nor shall be more than one (1) hour in duration. Those employees specifically required to remain at their work site and perform work in lieu of a duty-free, unpaid meal period shall be paid for such time at their regular hourly rate of pay, unless this required non-duty-free meal period causes them to exceed forty (40) hours of work within their workweek in which case they shall be compensated as having worked overtime for all hours in excess of forty (40). Meal periods shall be scheduled by the employee's supervisor as close as possible to the middle of the shift. During continuous shift operations that prohibit employees from being duty free during their lunch break, employees shall take a half-hour lunch break as well as their agreed to 15-minute rest break before and after lunch without loss of pay. Employees who are required to work beyond the normal eight (8) or ten (10) hour workday, shall receive rest and meal periods at the same intervals as described in A and B above.
C. The parties agree that the Fair Labor Standards Act requires that rest and lunch breaks may not be skipped or saved up in order to allow an employee leave work early or in any other manner modify their assigned work period. (See Article 24, Hours of Work, Section 1A(4) above.)
Rest Periods and Meal Periods. (a) Each employee shall be granted a rest period of fifteen (15) minutes during each working period of three point seven five (3.75) hours or more. Such rest periods shall not be allocated within one (1) hour of starting or quitting time. An employee will not be entitled to more than two (2) rest periods in a seven and one-half (7½) or an eight (8) hour work day as applicable.
(b) With the approval of the Employer or their delegate an employee who is not granted a rest period as a result of operational requirements shall be compensated at their regular rate of pay in addition to any other remuneration they may be entitled to.
(c) Employees working six (6) consecutive hours are entitled to an unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes, and no more than sixty (60) minutes. The meal period shall be scheduled as close to the mid- point of the work period as possible. Except in those operations, which normally employ only one person, the meal periods shall be uninterrupted.
(d) The meal and rest periods in operations that employ only one (1) person shall remain as per past practice unless changes are mutually agreed upon. For greater certainty, past practice means that at the Employer’s discretion, an employee may:
1. take the meal or rest periods;
2. be paid for the meal period at the applicable rate of pay;
3. be paid for the rest period at the regular rate of pay; or
4. be granted equivalent compensatory time off at the employee’s regular rate of pay
(e) Upon written request of an employee where the employee has obtained the Union’s concurrence, and with the approval of the Employer, this provision may be rendered void for a specific period of time.

Rest Periods and Meal Periods. (A) No supervisor shall unreasonably deny an employee a 15-minute rest period during each four-hour work shift. Whenever possible, such rest periods shall be scheduled at the middle of the work shift. However, it is recognized that many positions have a post of duty assignment that requires coverage for a full eight-hour shift, which would not permit the employee to actually leave his post. In those cases, it is recognized that the employee can “rest” while the employee physically remains in the geographic location of his duty post.
(B) An employee may not accumulate unused rest periods, nor shall rest periods be authorized for covering an employee’s late arrival on duty or early departure from duty.
(C) No supervisor shall unreasonably prevent employees from a minimum of a 30- minute meal period during each work shift.
Rest Periods and Meal Periods. (a) Employees, who work more than three (3) consecutive hours but six (6) consecutive hours or less, shall receive one (1) paid fifteen (15) minute rest break.
(b) Employees, who work more than six (6) consecutive hours, shall receive two (2) fifteen (15) minute breaks – one rest break in the first half (1/2) of their shift, the other in the second half (1/2) of their shift.
(c) Employees, who work more than five (5) consecutive hours, shall be entitled to an unpaid meal break during their shift of not less than one-half (1/2) hour and not greater than one (1) hour. This notwithstanding, employees may waive their meal break, with the approval of the Employer, in order to leave work early at the end of their shift. Employees shall be paid when they are required to be available during their meal breaks, provided that the provisions of Article 14 shall determine whether overtime rates apply in such situations.
