MILL DEPARTMENT. The procedure outlined below shall be followed in distributing overtime. New employees hired into the Mill department, shall assume the overtime hours of the highest credited overtime employee in the department, plus one. All Trades employees transferring from any department to department, for any reason, shall assume the average overtime hours of the employees in their destination department, or shall retain their credited overtime hours whichever are the greater. If such a transfer was not made through a permanent job posting, upon return to original department, the employee's overtime record shall be adjusted to reflect only the overtime hours worked or charged in the other department in addition to the overtime hours had at the time of the transfer. Overtime will be offered in the Mill Department by job classification. In order to further equalize overtime in the Mill Department, overtime work involved in the loading of boats and barges and reclaiming salt shall be distributed among the employees in the who are lowest and qualified to perform the job requirements and duties with respect to boatloading, barge loading and reclaiming salt operations. The Company will provide the Union with a letter outlining the job requirements and duties with respect to boatloading, barge loading and reclaiming operations. This letter be updated from time to if the requirements and duties change. Employees engaged in the loading of boats and barges shall be paid at the bulk rate. Heavy equipment operators will be paid the Heavy Equipment Operator rate. If boat and barge or reclaiming operations have employees working on overtime and employees working on straight time, the employees who are classified as heavy equipment operators who are working on straight time, will have the choice of heavy equipment operation. In addition to the above provisions the following procedure shall apply in arranging overtime in the Mill Department. An employee working on overtime shall not be allowed to displace another employee working regular classification regularly scheduled shift. An employee will not be charged for overtime if not fully qualified to do the work. Any Mill employee who has been offered training in the job requirements and duties of boatloading, barge loading and reclaiming operations, and who has refused such training, will be charged for every instance that the employee would have been offered the overtime due to accumulated overtime hours.   • Department of Health and Human Services An employee notified of a positive controlled substance or alcohol test result may request an independent test of their split sample at the employee’s expense. An employee who has a positive alcohol test and/or a positive controlled substance test may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, based on the incident that prompted the testing, including a violation of the drug and alcohol free work place rules.

  • Department Review If a mutually acceptable solution has not been reached during Step 1, and the employee intends to pursue the grievance formally, the employee shall submit the grievance in writing on the Employee Grievance Resolution Form to the Department Head with a copy to the Labor Relations Division not later than ten (10) working days after the supervisor’s written response. The Department Head shall consider the grievance and render a written decision within ten (10) working days of receipt of the formal grievance. The written decision shall include a clear and concise statement including the reason(s) for the decision. The Department Head may hold a meeting with the employee to achieve any of the following purposes: 1) to identify why the employee feels there is a grievance and facilitate communication and resolution; 2) to clearly identify issues and areas of agreement/disagreement; and 3) to have the parties present whatever available information/ documentation necessary to fully attempt to resolve the grievance. The employee may be accompanied by his/her shop xxxxxxx during the Department Review, provided that the xxxxxxx is in the same department as the employee, and has been identified by the employee on the Employee Grievance Resolution Form. If the department, in consultation with the Labor Relations Division, determines that the grievance is outside of the Department Head’s authority, or the grievance involves employees working in separate departments, then such grievance shall be submitted to Step 3.
