National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. Teachers who receive certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) shall receive, in addition to all other salary and differential payments due to said teachers, a sum of $4,000 in each year the teacher holds the certification.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. 1. The Board will grant up to three (3) days of paid professional leave over the three (3) year certification period.
2. The Board will pay 100% of the certification fees.
3. As a salary incentive, the Board will pay an additional amount (equivalent to the amount between degree levels on the salary scale – currently $2,000.00) annually for the term of the certificate.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. 36.14.1 A Teacher who is a certified classroom Teacher, and who achieves National Board certification, shall receive a non-pensionable, one-time bonus of $4,000, provided:
36.14.1.1 The Teacher’s most recent evaluation is Effective or higher;
36.14.1.2 The Teacher begins the National Board certification process (including initial payment) no later than the date of approval of this Agreement by the Council of the District of Columbia; and
36.14.1.3 The Teacher is awarded National Board certification no later than November 1, 2010.
36.14.2 The $4,000 bonus shall be paid within sixty (60) School Days following completion of the National Board certification.
36.14.3 The Teacher shall be required to work in DCPS for a minimum of three (3) years after receiving the bonus unless terminated by DCPS.
36.14.4 In the event that the Teacher fails to meet the three-year commitment, s/he shall be obligated to return the compensation to DCPS on a prorated basis.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. A. The Board shall pay a one-time stipend in the gross amount of $500.00 to each teacher who has obtained a teaching certificate or license issued by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (a NBPTS certificate), provided that, to receive payment in accordance with this provision, a teacher must have filed an application, and a copy of his/her NBPTS certificate, in the office of the Treasurer. Stipends due hereunder shall be paid within a reasonable time following such filing.
B. Any compensation created for Master Teachers during the term of this Contract shall replace the above amount and be paid in accordance with the guidelines of the Master Teacher Program.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. For bargaining unit members who apply for certification through the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) the Board shall provide to employees an amount equal to 50% of any grants or similar funds received from state or federal sources towards the application cost of said program. In addition, the Board shall reimburse employees upon receipt of the NBPTS certificate 50% of the net application fee (net of the total amount of any state or federal reimbursement). In addition, teachers receiving NBPTS certification shall receive an honorarium of $1,500 for each year they hold NBPTS certifications. Teachers receiving the honorarium agree to conduct in-service/staff training workshops and serve as a mentor for other bargaining unit members applying for NBPTS certification.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. The District will provide $1,000 in fee support for unit members who achieve certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Teachers will also be compensated at $1,000 per year from the second year of certification until expiration.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. The Coventry School District and the Coventry Teachers Alliance believe in the value and importance of professional growth and development for teachers as essential in helping students achieve high standards. The District and the Alliance recognize the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards certification process as a highly effective means for teachers to engage in this essential professional development.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. 1. Each year, a total of $4000 will be allocated to be paid towards the application fee for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. $2000 each shall be available if one or two teachers apply. A total of $4000 shall be split evenly among applicants if up to four teachers apply. If more than four teachers apply in a one-year period, the four teachers with the most Carlisle seniority, will each receive $1000. Teachers must notify the Administration of their intent to apply by a deadline of one month prior to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards’ deadline for application. Within two weeks after this deadline for notification of intent to apply, the Administration shall notify those teachers regarding the expected disbursement of the $4000. Reimbursement shall be made within 30 days of actual application to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
2. Upon receiving National Board for Professional Teaching Standards or equivalent certification for other specialties, such as the National Association of School Psychologists certificate or the Certificate of Clinical Competence offered by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, a staff member's contracted salary shall be increased by $1,000 per year for each of the next five years. If and when similar certifications become available, the CTA and CSC will examine whether they should be included under this plan.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification a) Any employee at the Masters + 45 level who participates in the National Board Certification Program will receive reimbursement at the rate of 100% of the cost of the initial attempt at obtaining and maintaining such certification as long as the employee remains in the employment of the District for a period of two (2) years following completion or recertification of the National Board Certification Program. In the event that an employee leaves the employment of the District during the two (2) year period following successful completion of the National Board Certification program, the employee shall be required to refund the amount of reimbursement received under this subsection. The Board reserves the right to deduct this sum from any payments that may be due and owed to the employee upon separation from employment, or to take appropriate action to collect the same.
b) Employees who successfully complete and maintain National Board Certification shall be placed on the last column (the column furthest to the right on the salary schedule). To move to this last column with a National Board Certification, the employee must be moving from a Masters + 45 column to the National Board Certification/Doctoral column. The column has been relabeled from “PhD” to “National Board Certification (NBC)/PhD”.
c) If the employee does not renew his or her National Board Certification, he or she will be returned to a column reflective of their actual educational attainment without the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. For classroom teachers, overall evaluation rating of distinguished, proficient, basic or unsatisfactory (comprehensive or focused) in the last contract year.
