Nursing Workloads. The Employer has a responsibility to provide reasonable workloads for nurses. Reasonable workload principles The following principles shall be applied in determining or allocating a reasonable workload for a nurse: (a) the workload assessment, will take into account demand by way of clinical assessment, including acuity; skill mix, including specialisation where relevant; and geographical and other local requirements/ resources; (b) the work performed by the Employee will be able to be satisfactorily completed within the ordinary hours of work assigned to the Employee in their roster cycle; (c) the work will be consistent with the duties within the Employee’s classification description and at a professional standard so that the care provided or about to be provided to a patient or client shall be adequate, appropriate and not adversely affect the rights, health or safety of the patient, client or nurse; (d) the workload expected of an Employee will not be unfair or unreasonable having regard to the skills, experience and classification of the Employee for the period in which the workload is allocated; (e) an Employee will not be allocated an unreasonable or excessive nursing workload or other responsibilities except in emergency or extraordinary circumstances of an urgent nature; (f) an Employee shall not be required to work an unreasonable amount of overtime; and (g) an Employee’s workload will not prevent reasonable and practicable access to Learning and Development Leave, together with ‘in-house’ courses or activities, and mandatory training and education. Such matters may be raised through staff meetings or the Consultative Committee. The Employer will provide information to allow informed discussion and problem solving. Such information will include but not be limited to patient numbers and staffing by classification per shift per xxxx/unit. Filling Vacancies All rostered and unplanned leave will be replaced with a nurse/midwife of at least the same classification level wherever reasonably practicable. Monitoring staffing at xxxx/unit meetings Staffing is an agenda item for all unit/xxxx meetings and is to be reviewed collaboratively. Such meetings should normally occur monthly and are the forum to receive feedback on the progress of any particular Issue regarding staffing. Nursing Workloads. ‌ 50.1 The employer is committed to ensuring that staffing levels are appropriate, in order to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and a safe working environment for nurses. 50.2 The parties agree that existing flexibility in respect of staffing will be maintained. Additionally the parties recognise and agree that the model of operation at Xxxxxxxxxx Heart Clinic is unique and that workloads may vary according to patient presentation and acuity. 50.3 Should any nurse in the unit feel the workloads are unreasonably heavy, on a regular basis, then they have a responsibility to discuss their concerns with their Director of Nursing. 50.4 The Director of Nursing shall investigate any issue that is raised within 48 hours and provide a response to the issues. 50.5 It is the intent of the parties that the issue be initially dealt with as close to the source as possible, with graduated steps for further discussion and resolution at higher authority levels where necessary. 50.6 If the matter is not settled with a reasonable period of time, Clause 36 Resolution of Disputes will apply. 50.7 In determining workloads the employer is entitled to take into account the needs of the workplace including patient care, the unique nature of the operational model and the need to roster employees at short notice in accordance with subclause (vi) of Clause 9, Rosters of this Agreement.

The current practice of staffing based on collaboration between Nursing Administration and Xxxx/unit management will continue on a shift basis, taking into account both occupancy and patient acuity. 40.3 The employer will endeavour to ensure that unexpected admissions do not prohibit the delivery of good nursing care. 40.4 Should any nurse in any one xxxx or unit feel the workloads are unreasonably heavy, on a regular basis, then they have a responsibility to discuss their concerns with their nurse manager. 40.5 The nurse manager shall investigate any issue that is raised within forty eight (48) hours and provide a response to the issues. 40.6 It is the intent of the parties that the issue be initially dealt with as close to the source as possible, with graduated steps for further discussion and resolution at higher authority levels where necessary. 40.7 The employee may be represented by their NSW Nurses and Midwives Association (NSWNMA) branch representatives. 40.8 If the matter is not settled within a reasonable period of time, the Clause 9, Resolution of Disputes will apply. 40.9 In determining workloads the employer is entitled to take into account the needs of the workplace including patient care and the need to roster employees at short notice in accordance with this agreement

(vii) The employee may be represented by the Association. (viii) If the matter is not settled with a reasonable period of time, subclauses (iii) – (vii) of Clause 41 Resolution of Disputes will apply. (ix) In determining workloads the employer is entitled to take into account the needs of the workplace including patient care and the need to roster employees at short notice in accordance with subclause (vi) of Clause 6 Rosters of this Enterprise Agreement.

(iii) All rostered and unplanned leave will be replaced with a nurse of the same classification level wherever reasonably practicable, taking into account the factors outlined above at subclause (ii). Monitoring staffing at xxxx/unit meetings (iv) Staffing will be reviewed collaboratively at monthly meetings where practicable. These meetings will be minuted with the minutes displayed in a prominent place. Resolving staffing issues (v) Should any nurse or group of nurses in any one xxxx or unit feel the workloads are unreasonably heavy, on a regular basis, then they have a responsibility to raise their concerns in writing with their nurse manager. (vi) The nurse manager shall investigate any issue that is raised within 48 hours, where practicable, and provide a response to the issues. (vii) If the nurse manager is unable to resolve the workload issue or respond within this period, the issue is to be referred to the Director of Nursing. (viii) The employee may be represented by their NSWNMA branch representatives. (ix) If the matter is not settled with a reasonable period of time, Clause 10 Resolution of Disputes will apply.   • Staffing There shall be a clinician employed by the outside contractor for EAP Services who will be on-site a minimum of 20 hours a week. The Contractor shall maintain a Contractor approved Configuration Management Plan that complies with ANSI/EIA-649 2011. Notwithstanding ANSI/EIA-649 2011, the Contractor’s configuration management program shall comply with the VLS Configuration Management Plans, TL130-AD-PLN-010-VLS, and shall comply with the following:

  • Preventive Services All necessary procedures to prevent the occurrence of oral disease, including: Cleaning and scaling Topical application of fluoride Space maintainers

  • Workload An employee who believes that her workload is unsafe or consistently excessive shall discuss the problem with her immediate supervisor. If the problem is not resolved in this discussion, the employee may seek a remedy by means of the grievance procedure. If the matter is not resolved in the grievance procedure, it may be referred to troubleshooter who shall: a) investigate the difference; b) define the issue in the difference; and c) make written recommendations to resolve the differences.

  • Staffing Plan The Board and the Association agree that optimum class size is an important aspect of the effective educational program. The Polk County School Staffing Plan shall be constructed each year according to the procedures set forth in Board Policy and, upon adoption, shall become Board Policy.

  • Network Interconnection Architecture Each Party will plan, design, construct and maintain the facilities within their respective systems as are necessary and proper for the provision of traffic covered by this Agreement. These facilities include but are not limited to, a sufficient number of trunks to the point of interconnection with the tandem company, and sufficient interoffice and interexchange facilities and trunks between its own central offices to adequately handle traffic between all central offices within the service areas at a P.01 grade of service or better. The provisioning and engineering of such services and facilities will comply with generally accepted industry methods and practices, and will observe the rules and regulations of the lawfully established tariffs applicable to the services provided.
