Observances. Employees may attend the on-campus celebrations and/or commemoration(s) including but not limited to: National Day of Mourning Remembrance Day International Women’s Day National Aboriginal Day Montreal Massacre Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women International Workers’ Day Quebec City Mosque Shooting Memorial (January 29th) Black Lives Matter LGBTQ2S+ Pride or Remembrance Residential School Remembrance With the approval of the Supervisor(s), an employee may arrange to exchange their duties, or for their substitution, with or by a qualified person, in order to attend the on-campus commemoration(s). In most instances the date of the celebrations and/or commemoration(s) are known to employees well in advance, therefore the employee must notify their Supervisor as early as possible before the celebrations about their intent to observe the celebration. In the event that no celebration or commemoration is held on-campus, employees may observe a minute of silence on the days listed above. Requests will not be unreasonably denied.

Observances. 26.01 The Company agrees to allow employees one (1) minute’s silence at 11:00 a.m. on April 28th of each year in observance of those workers killed on the job, one (1) minute’s silence at 11:00 a.m. on November 11 in remembrance of Canada’s wartime involvement and one (1) minute’s silence at 11:00 a.m. on December 6th in recognition of the concern about violence against women.
Observances. Only the flags of the United States and of Arizona will be accorded public and official display; only the National Anthem of the United States shall be performed.
Observances. (a) National Day of Mourning Each year on April 28 at 11:00 a.m., 1 minute of silence may be observed in memory of workers killed or injured on the job. If their immediate work responsibilities permit, employees who are members of the Central JHSC or of a JHSC may attend the University’s National Day of Mourning ceremonies; employees will exercise reasonable judgment having regard for their teaching responsibilities.

  • Observance (a) When a holiday specified in Article 58, Section 1 falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be recognized as the holiday. When a holiday specified in Article 58, Section 1 falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be recognized as the holiday.

  • OBSERVANCE OF THE LAW The Contractor shall comply with all laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations bearing upon the performance of its obligations under the terms of this Contract.

  • Holiday Observance When the observed holiday falls on the employee’s scheduled work day, that day will be considered the holiday. When an observed holiday falls on the employee’s scheduled day off, he or she will be permitted to take an alternate day off during the week in which the holiday is observed. Employees must schedule any such alternate days off in advance with the approval of their supervisors. Employees may elect to receive equivalent compensatory time in lieu of an alternate day off.

  • Religious Observance 32.01 The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to accommodate an employee who requests time off to fulfill his or her religious obligations.
