Observation & Evaluation. During the first year of a teacher’s service, the Principal will conduct a minimum of three classroom observations, and during the second year of service (if applicable), a minimum of two classroom observations, which will be scheduled in advance with the teacher, will not exceed one per two-week period, and will be completed by March 31st. Additional observations may be conducted at the discretion of the Principal throughout the year. During each year of probation, the Principal will hold a mid-year review meeting to discuss the teacher's progress, after which the Principal will also complete a written evaluation report. Classroom observations and evaluations during the probationary period are otherwise subject to all pertinent terms of this Agreement. Two written evaluations of the probationary teacher are required per year.

Observation & Evaluation. The Illinois State Evaluation Article 24A mandates that a tenured teacher be observed once within a two (2) year period of time and that observation leads to a summative evaluation rating as defined in Section 8.6 of this Agreement. Regardless of Evaluation by Plan A or Plan B, all tenured teachers on evaluation in a specific school year will complete a minimum of one (1) classroom observations and 1 Walk-Through by a qualified evaluator during their evaluation year. The observation procedure will be in accordance with Sections 8.4, 8.5 and 8.6 of this Agreement. The teacher shall be rated in accord with the performance criteria listed in Section 8.8.
Observation & Evaluation. The Superintendent and PEA President have full authority to execute the APPR plan based on the recommendations received from a team comprised of PEA and District representatives. It is the understanding of the parties that the APPR plan will be created and submitted as per legislative statute.

Observation & Evaluation. 5.1.1 A bargaining unit member who has been observed may request a post observation conference with the observer, which if requested, will take place at a mutually convenient time. Nothing contained herein shall require an observation or evaluation of a bargaining unit member. 5.1.2 The bargaining unit member will be advised of the observer's evaluation at the conference. At the bargaining unit member's request, these evaluations will be reduced to writing and signed by the observer. Nothing contained herein however, shall prohibit or inhibit the observer or evaluator from reducing his/her comments to writing if he/she so chooses. Nothing contained herein shall limit the observer or evaluator's discretion as to the content or substance of the evaluation, observation, incident, or other event documented or described by the observer or evaluator. 5.1.3 A bargaining unit member shall have the right to attach written comments to the observation or evaluation report within seven (7) school days after receipt of a written evaluation or observation or other written document concerning the performance of the bargaining unit member.

Observation & Evaluation. A. Tenured track Teaching Assistants shall be observed by a certified administrator a minimum of twice each year until a recommendation is made regarding tenure. Such observations should be evenly spaced throughout the school year. The observation will reflect a Teaching Assistant’s performance working with students in an instructional capacity. The observer will schedule the observation at a mutually convenient time (see form in Appendix A). B. Teaching Assistants shall be evaluated annually. This annual summative evaluation shall be conducted by a certified administrator with input from the cooperating Teacher and reviewed with each Teaching Assistant by June 1. A Teaching Assistant may respond in writing if s/he disagrees with the evaluation, and this shall be attached to the evaluation. This formal evaluation should not take the place of regular, ongoing feedback from cooperating Teachers. The current forms shall remain in effect unless or until a change is agreed upon by BSATA and the District. (See forms in Appendix A) C. All observations and evaluations will be conducted openly, with full knowledge of the Assistant. D. When any written report or evaluation of an Assistant is formulated, a copy shall be given to the Assistant within seven (7) days thereafter. No such report or evaluation shall be placed in the Assistant’s file, or otherwise acted upon, without a prior conference between the Assistant and the Administrator. The conference shall take place within seven (7) working days. E. Each Assistant with two business days’ notice (and by appointment), shall have the right to inspect all material placed in that individual’s personnel folder and to make copies of any documents therein.
Observation & Evaluation. 1. Observation/Evaluation shall be conducted and subsequent reports filed for tenure and non-tenure teachers on a regular basis. a. Tenure – at least one (1) annually b. Non-Tenure – at least three (3) annually 2. Such Reports shall be addressed to the teacher. 3. Such reports shall be written and shall include: a. Strengths of the teacher as evidenced during period since the last report. b. Weaknesses of the teacher as evidenced during the period since the previous report. c. Specific suggestions as to measures which the teacher might take to improve his/her performance in each of the areas wherein weaknesses have been indicated.
