Where the administration determines that repeated observa- tions are necessary before the completion of a cycle, the teacher shall be notified after the first observation and a meeting shall be initiated in which observed deficiencies are identified to the teacher and a re- medial plan shall be developed. 4. Observation/evaluations shall be coordinated for individuals who are shared between departments and/or Administrators. 5. Prior to the observation, teaching staff members shall be informed of the identity of their observers/evaluators. 6. A post conference shall follow an observation before a written docu- ment is produced. 7. A teacher has the right to a conference after receiving the initial writ- ten document of an observation/evaluation. 8. Teaching staff members shall have the right to respond in writing to observation/evaluation, which closes the report. 9. Teaching staff members shall have the right to Association represen- tation. 10. All official observation/evaluation documents, including the profes- sional improvement plans, shall be retained in the teacher’s permanent personnel file.

Observations and Evaluations. 10.1 The District shall perform observations and evaluations of all bar- gaining unit members. The parties subscribe to the philosophy that the intent of observations and evaluations is to improve instruction, and thereby student achievement. To that end, the parties agree that the administration shall work collaboratively with the bargaining unit members in the process outlined in the attached Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR).
Observations and Evaluations. 12 The purpose for observations and evaluation is not only to observe the quality and quantity of the work 13 of the employee, but to evaluate and guide the employee in the performance of the employee’s duties in 14 a positive and helpful manner. 16 The immediate supervisor or designee will be responsible for the evaluations which will occur at least 17 once in the employee’s work year, except that new employees shall be evaluated twice during their first 18 year of employment. The supervisor will use the standard district form for the evaluation.
