Out of Town Allowances. The Employer shall arrange, assign and pay for out of town living accommodations that meet a suitable and reasonable standard. Double occupancy at an economy motel normally meets the standard. In addition, the Employer shall pay each employee a food allowance for each day that the employee is scheduled to work at a project that requires overnight accommodation. The daily allowance is paid for each scheduled workday for the employee at the out of town work site. The daily food allowance is $51.00.

Effective January 1, 2022, this increases to fifty-two dollars and fifty cents ($52.50) and January 1, 2023, this increases to fifty-four dollars ($54.00).
Out of Town Allowances. (a) In regard to out-of-town allowances, it is understood that if the Employer requires an employee to be out-of-town overnight, the Employer will provide suitable room and board for the employee up to a maximum of eighty dollars ($80.00) per day or a maximum of four hundred dollars ($400.00) per week. If the employee is more than one hundred and sixty (160) kilometres out of Toronto then such room and board allowance shall be payable to a maximum of seven (7) days per week;
(b) The free travel zone shall be that area outlined in the attached map (see Appendix VI). Calculations of the travel (mileage) shall be forty (40¢) per road kilometre one way from the outer limits of the free travel zone;
(c) It is understood that when an employee is sent out of town by his Employer, the Employer will maintain the rate of wages, hours of work and fringe benefits provided for in this Agreement including and without limiting the generality of the foregoing welfare, pension, vacation and statutory holiday pay and training as provided herein. A Schedule applying to all road and parking lot construction, repairs, including interlocking stone paving of all types, and paving etc. in Simcoe County.

A premium of one dollar ($1.00/hr) per hour worked shall be paid to employees when assigned to a worksite that is 100km or more from Employer’s shop.
Out of Town Allowances. Out of town shall mean project further than 140 kms from the Employer’s office. Out of Town Allowances. The following provisions apply to all work more than one hundred and twenty (120) kilometers from the Employer’s base of operations. The Employer shall arrange, assign and pay for out of town living accommodations that meet a suitable and reasonable standard. Double occupancy at an economy motel normally meets the standard. In addition, the Employer shall pay each employee a food allowance for each day that the employee is scheduled to work at a project that requires overnight accommodation. The allowance is paid for each day worked by the employee and for each day that work was scheduled but not performed due to circumstances outside the employee’s control, but excluding days not worked due to the illness or absence of the employee. The daily food allowance is forty dollars ($40.00). Effective January 1, 2022, the Employer shall pay a daily food allowance of forty-five dollars ($45.00). January 1, 2023, this increases to fifty dollars ($50.00). January 1, 2024, this increases to fifty-five dollars ($55.00). Distance and time are to be measured using Google Maps as the shortest distance by paved road and excludes toll roads unless Employer is paying the cost of the toll.
Out of Town Allowances. All travel provisions listed in Article 13.01 shall apply for Out of Town work. Out of Town work is defined as more than sixty (60) miles from the Employer’s Shop. In addition, the Employer shall pay each employee a forty-five dollar ($45.00) food allowance for each day that the employee is scheduled to work at a project that requires overnight accommodation. The allowance is paid for each day worked by the employee and for each day that work was scheduled but not performed due to circumstances outside the employee’s control, but excluding days not worked due to the illness or absence of the employee. The Employer shall cover the cost of any household items required for out of town accommodations. If accommodations are not available and the employee is required to travel to the worksite each day, travel time will be paid in accordance with Article 13.01.

Effective January 1, 2019 the allowance is $130, January 1, 2020 it is $135, January 1, 2021 the allowance is $140, January 1, 2022 it is $145. Where mutually agreed, the Employer may arrange, assign and pay for living accommodations that meet a suitable and reasonable standard.
