MEAL HOURS. 21.1 Not less than 30 minutes nor more than 1 hour shall be allowed for meal breaks. Meal breaks may be staggered by arrangement between the Employer and Employee(s) provided that no Employee shall be required to work for more than 6 hours without a break for a meal.
21.2 Employees called upon to work during meal hours shall be paid double rates. Provided that in cases of emergency where it is necessary to work up to 15 minutes after the usual ceasing time for lunch this clause shall not apply, and in such cases the Employee shall be allowed a period for lunch equivalent to their normal meal period.
MEAL HOURS. For work instructed to be done during meal periods and thereafter until a meal break is allowed time and a half rates shall be paid. An employee shall not be compelled to work for more than five hours without a break for a meal.
MEAL HOURS. Meal hours shall be from 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M., from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M., from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., and from 12:00 Midnight to 1:00 A.M. Work shall be performed during meal hours on arrival or sailing days to complete discharging or loading a hatch, or by mutual agreement of the local ILA and port association in the ports or districts covered by this Master Contract.
MEAL HOURS. (a) The meal hours for the Unlicensed crew members covered by this Agreement shall be as follows: Breakfast from 0530 hours to 0630 hours Dinner from 1130 hours to 1230 hours Supper from 1730 hours to 1830 hours
(b) These hours may be varied for good reason, provided such variation shall not exceed one-half (1/2) hour either way and also provided that one (1) unbroken hour shall be allowed at all times for dinner and supper when the vessel is in port. In addition, there shall not be more than six hours between the end of one meal period and the start of the next meal period.
MEAL HOURS. Times of meals and length of meal hours may be adjusted by mutual agreement between the Union and the Employer. Where the employee is boarded in a camp the Employer shall provide hot soup, beverages and sandwiches. It will be the responsibility of the Employee to take the supplied lunch with him to the work site. Where the work site is within close proximity of the Employee's accommodations, hot lunches may be provided at the discretion of the Employer.
MEAL HOURS. 16.1 Not less than 30 minutes or more than one hour shall be allowed for meal breaks. The meal break shall be taken no later than to finish at 2.00 p.m., provided that no employee shall be required to work for more than 5 hours without a break for a meal. Such meal break shall not count as time worked.
16.2 Where overtime is necessary for more than 1 hour after the usual finishing time, a break of not less than 30 minutes or more than 1 hour shall be allowed for tea and shall be taken within 1 hour of such finishing time. Where such overtime does not exceed 1 hour, there shall not be any break; provided that any employer and his/her employee may mutually agree to any variation of this subclause to meet the circumstances of the work in hand.
16.3 Subject to subclause 16.1 of this clause, an employer may require an employee to work during his/her recognised meal break as part of his/her ordinary time.
MEAL HOURS. The meal hours for the Unlicensed crew members covered by this Agreement shall be as follows: Breakfast from hours Dinner from hours to hours Supper hours to hours. These hours may be varied for good reason, provided such variation shall not exceed one- half hour either way and also provided that one (1) unbroken hour shall be allowed at all times for dinner and supper when the vessel is in port. In addition, there shall not be more than six hours between the end of one meal period and the start of the next meal period. When Unlicensed crew members are required to work overtime six and where the safety of the vessel and tow allows, they shall be entitled to a coffee break after approximately two (2) hours work at night and lunch break of at least thirty (30) minutes after approximately four (4) hours work. Where an employee works an off watch period into an on watch period, he shall be given one-half hour in which to eat. Where an employee does not receive one-half hour in which to eat, he shall be credited with an additional one half hour at the overtime rate as a penalty thereof Where an works from an on watch period into an off watch period, he shall be given one-half hour in which to eat immediately following the on watch period. Where an employee does not receive one-half hour in which to eat, he shall be credited with an additional one-half hour at the overtime rate a penalty thereof and his time shall be continuous. Notwithstanding subsections and above, this section shall not apply when meal hours are varied under section of this Article.
MEAL HOURS. In the event employees are required to work through a meal hour and continue beyond such meal hour, then, for such hours worked beyond the meal hour, they shall be paid the greater of the meal hour rate or double the rate for the hours following the meal hour.
MEAL HOURS. An employee shall be entitled to an unpaid meal break of not less than 30 minutes and not more than one hour each day. No employee shall be required to work for more than five consecutive hours without a meal break. Provided that if any employee is required to work during his/her meal break he/her shall be paid at the rate of time and a half until a meal break is taken. Provided also that if the continuance of work is reasonably necessary and could not have been avoided by any reasonable action of the employer, the employer shall be allowed time not exceeding 20 minutes before such penalty rate begins to accrue.
MEAL HOURS. Section 1. Members of the Department who are on duty on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas shall be entitled to two (2) hours of compensatory time off for “meal hours.”
