Shift Extension. A shift extension is time worked by an employee contiguous to the beginning or end of a regularly scheduled shift. It differs from a shift adjustment because the employee works their entire scheduled shift in addition to the extension. Shift extensions shall be compensated at the applicable overtime rate for the actual hours worked in addition to the regular shift.

Shift Extension. A shift extension opportunity is defined as an extension of the regular shift (for those individuals at work on their regularly scheduled shift), such that the total hours worked do not exceed 16 in any 24 hour period.
