PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH FULL RETIREMENT CREDIT. The parties agree to a reduced teaching service program for members of the bargaining unit, subject to the following:
1. The member must have reached age 55 before the beginning of the school year in which the reduction in workload starts.
2. The member must have been employed full-time in a position requiring certification for at least ten (10) years. The member must have been employed in this district in a full-time position requiring certification for each of the five (5) years immediately preceding entrance into part-time employment.
3. The minimum part-time employment shall be the equivalent of one-half (1/2) of the number of days of service required by the member's contract of employment during the member's final year of service in a full-time position.
4. The option of part-time employment must be initiated in writing by the member and can be revoked only with the mutual consent of the District and the member. The District will attempt to inform the member of the probable position the member will assume during each period of employment prior to the member's and District's final decision. In so doing, the District shall consider prior experience of the member, current circumstances and needs of the District.
5. Part-time services are limited to a period not to exceed five (5) years and the member will then be ineligible to return to the District as certificated member. The period of part-time employment shall not extend beyond the end of the school year during which the member reaches his/her 70th birthday.
6. The member and the Xxxxxx Union School District shall submit retirement contributions based on the amount the member would have earned if the member were employed on a full-time basis.
7. The reduced workload status shall be based on a full school year, and the minimum compensation paid or time worked shall be the equal to no less than one-half (1/2) time.
8. The reduced service may be on a daily schedule or full-time for at least one-half (1/2) year; however, member or employer contributions must be paid monthly to STRS.
9. No more than ten percent (10%) of the District's staff shall participate in this program during any one school year. The District reserves the right to deny granting a reduced workload to any member if doing so would create staffing or fiscal problems. PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH FULL RETIREMENT CREDIT. The District may participate in the pre-retirement reduced workload program as defined in Education Code sections 44922 and 22724.
PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH FULL RETIREMENT CREDIT. A. Education Code Sections 44922 and 22724 and Government Code Section 20815 are implemented as follows:
1. Full-time regular contract unit members may apply for participation in this program. If the Board, in its sole discretion, approves such an application, a unit member may have his/her work load reduced from full-time to part-time while maintaining his/her full retirement benefits.
2. On or before January 1, the District shall mail a letter to each employee who will be eligible for part-time employment as of the commencement of the ensuing school year. Such letter shall include the following statements:
a. That the employee is eligible for the particular program.
b. A clear explanation of the benefits and duties which attach to an enrollee in such program.
c. A statement to the effect that the employee should not enroll in such program until he/she and the District mutually agree on his/her job description, duties, hours, location(s) at which the employee is required to perform his/her service, and the duration of his/her participation in the program . This agreement between the District and the participating employee shall be consummated on or before May 15. If no agreement is consummated on or before May 15, the employee will not be eligible for participation in the program during the ensuing school year.
B. Any employee who is interested in participating in the program shall notify the District no later than February 1. The District, or its designated representative, shall schedule a meeting with each such employee on or before April 30 to develop a mutually agreeable program for such employee.
PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH FULL RETIREMENT CREDIT. (Reduced Work Year)
1. An option for part-time employment is available for eligible unit members to phase into their retirement program. The unit member and the Office agree to contribute the full retirement payment that would have been contributed if the unit member had been employed on a full- time basis.
2. In order to qualify for this provision, the unit member must meet the following conditions.
A. The unit member must have reached the age of 55 prior to reduction in workload.
B. The unit member must have been employed full-time in a position requiring certification for at least ten (10) years of which the immediately preceding five (5) years were full- time employment.
C. The option of part-time employment must be exercised at the request of the unit member, approved by the Office and can be revoked only with the mutual consent of the Office and the unit member.
D. The unit member shall be paid a salary which is the pro rata share of the salary the unit member would be earning had the unit member not elected to exercise the option of part-time employment. The unit member shall retain all other rights and benefits for which the unit member is eligible.
E. The minimum part-time employment shall be the equivalent of one-half of the number of days of service required by the unit member's contract of employment during his/her final year of service in a full-time position.
F. The unit member may participate a total of six (6) consecutive years.
3. The employee shall receive health and welfare benefits in the same manner as a full-time employee.
4. Any unit member who is interested in participating in the program shall notify the Personnel Office no later than March 15. The Office shall schedule a meeting with each such unit member on or before April 30 to develop a mutually agreeable program for such unit member.
5. No unit member shall be pressured overtly or indirectly to participate in the part-time employment program.
PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH FULL RETIREMENT CREDIT. The employee must have reached age fifty-five (55) but must be less than sixty-five (65) years of age, prior to reduction in workload.
11.2.1 The employee must have been employed full-time in a position requiring certification for at least ten (10) years of which the immediately preceding five (5) years were full-time employment.
11.2.2 The option of part-time employment must be exercised at the request of the employee and can be revoked only with the mutual consent of the Employer and the employee.
11.2.3 The employee shall be paid a salary which is the pro-rata share of the salary he/she would be earning had he/she not elected to exercise the option of part-time employment but shall retain all other rights and benefits for which he/she makes the payments that would be required if he/she remained in full-time employment. The employee shall receive health benefits as provided in Section 53201 of the Government Code in the same manner as a full-time employee.
11.2.4 The minimum part-time employment shall be the equivalent of one-half of the number of days of service required by the employee’s contract of employment during his/her final year of service in full-time position.
11.2.5 This option is limited to pre-kindergarten through grade 12 certificated employees who do not hold positions with salaries above that of the school principal.
11.2.6 On or before January 1st, the District shall mail a letter to each teacher who will be eligible for part-time employment as of the commencement of the ensuing school year. Such letter shall include the following:
a. That such teacher is eligible for the particular program.
b. A clear explanation of the benefits and duties which apply to an enrollee in such program.
c. A statement to the effect that the teacher should not enroll in such program until the teacher and the Employer mutually agree on a job description, duties, hours, the location or locations at which the teacher is required to perform services, and the duration of participation in the program.
d. That the District or teacher reserves the right to review annually the teacher’s job description, duties, hours, the location or locations at which the teacher is required to perform services and make changes which are in the best educational interest of the District. The District’s decision shall not be arbitrary or capricious.
PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH FULL RETIREMENT CREDIT. 14.1 14.3 Eligibility, deadlines and requirements for full STRS credit for part-time employment

14.1.1 The option of the part-time employment may be exercised only by request of the unit member, for a period of not to exceed ten (10) years, and can be revoked only with the consent of the Board and the unit member.
14.1.2 The unit member shall have attained age fifty-five (55) prior to the reduction of the work load under the plan and prior to the beginning of a school year.
14.1.3 The unit member may participate in the program for not more than ten

PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH FULL RETIREMENT CREDIT. 3.1 A part-time employee with full retirement credit plan as provided in Section 44922 and 22724 of the California Education Code may be implemented if there is no cost to the District.
