– Probationary Periods and Seniority. ‌ Employees serve a probationary period following hire, and shall be credited with commensurate service toward seniority upon completion of the probationary period. Employee probationary periods for initial hire and change of status are governed by USM policy VII – 1.21 – UMS Policy on Probation for Nonexempt Employees. Any approved leave with pay, or any authorized call to military service, shall not break seniority, and the employee shall continue to accrue seniority during the time the employee is on such leave.

– Probationary Periods and Seniority. 13.1 All newly hired or rehired employees shall serve a 2,080-hour probationary period, of actual hours worked, exclusive of overtime during which time they may be terminated at the sole discretion of the Employer. During the probationary period, employees use accrued vacation subject to approval of the supervisor. Probationary employees shall be entitled to use accrued sick leave in accord with the Le Sueur County Personnel Policy.

  • Promotional Probationary Period An employee who has previously completed the requisite probationary period and who is rejected during a subsequent probationary period for a promotional appointment shall be reinstated to the former position from which the employee was appointed. If the employee was dismissed from employment during the promotional probationary period, the employee shall not be entitled to such reinstatement rights.
