PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. The Board encourages the continuing professional growth of the Superintendent through her participation in programs conducted or sponsored by local, state and national school administrators and school board associations; seminars and courses offered by educational institutions; and other informational meetings with other persons whose particular skills or backgrounds would serve to improve the capabilities and capacity of the Superintendent to carry out her professional responsibilities. Such participation may include attendance at and participation in the annual conferences of the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), Maryland Association of Boards of Education (XXXX), and the National School Boards Association (NSBA). In connection with such activities, the Board shall permit a reasonable amount of time away from daily administrative responsibilities and shall reimburse the Superintendent for reasonable and actual costs of such participation, subject to the normal MCPS procedures for expense reimbursement and to the oversight of the Board. In addition, the Board shall pay the membership dues of the Superintendent for AASA, XXXX, and NSBA. The Board shall also pay the membership dues of other professional and civic groups that the Superintendent feels it is appropriate to join in order to maintain and improve her professional skills, community relations, and obligations as approved in advance by the president of the Board.

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. The DISTRICT encourages the continuing professional growth of the SUPERINTENDENT through his participation, as he might decide in light of his responsibilities as SUPERINTENDENT, in: A. the operations, programs and other activities conducted or sponsored by local, state, and national school administrator and school boards associations; B. seminars and courses offered by public or private educational institutions; C. informational meetings with other persons whose particular skills or backgrounds would serve to improve the capacity of SUPERINTENDENT to perform his professional responsibilities for the DISTRICT; AND
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. The Board encourages the continuing professional growth of the Superintendent through her participation as she might decide, in light of her responsibilities as the Superintendent, in the following ways: A. The operations, programs, and other activities conducted or sponsored by local, state, and national school administrator and/or school board associations, including but not limited to, conferences, conventions and workshops. B. Seminars and courses offered by public or private educational institutions; C. Informational meetings with other persons whose particular skills or backgrounds would serve to improve the capacity of the Superintendent to perform her professional responsivities for the Board; D. Visits to other institutions; and E. Other activities promoting the professional growth of the Superintendent. Expenses for meals, lodging, registration and transportation for national and state conventions of recognized educational associations, workshops, seminars and institutes to enhance the Superintendent's knowledge and expertise in the field of education and administration shall be paid for/reimbursed by the Board in accordance with law, and to a maximum reimbursement of up to Two Thousand Five Hundred ($2,500.00) per Contract of Employment Year. Payments or reimbursements shall be made in accordance with OMB travel circular provisions, the general requirements of N.J.S.A. 18.A:11-12, Board policy, and upon prior approval of the Board. The Superintendent shall follow Board policy and applicable law in supplying the necessary documentation for reimbursement. In addition to reimbursement provided for professional development, the Board also agrees to reimburse the Superintendent for tuition costs as further outlined herein. Courses shall be taken at an accredited institution and the Board shall reimburse the Superintendent for tuition costs only provided such coursework culminates in the acquisition of a doctoral degree conferred by a duly accredited institution of higher education as defined in N.J.A.C. 6A:9-2.1. Courses must be directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position of Superintendent of Schools, and the Superintendent must earn a grade of "A" or "B" in the course; a grade of "Pass" shall be accepted for those courses for which no other grades are offered and the Superintendent has provided the Board with evidence that the course is "pass/fail" only. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. Governing Board encourages the continuing professional growth of Superintendent through his participation in: (a) Operations, programs and other activities conducted or sponsored by local, state and national school administrators and school board associations; (b) Seminars and courses offered by public or private educational institutions; and (c) Informational meetings with other persons whose particular skills or backgrounds would serve to improve the capacity of Superintendent to perform his professional responsibilities for the District. Governing Board shall permit a reasonable amount of release time for Superintendent to attend to such professional matters and pay for the necessary registration fees, travel and subsistence expenses, as approved by the Governing Board and in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 15-342 (5) and § 15-504.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. A. District encourages the continuing professional growth of Superintendent through his participation , as he might decide in the light of his responsibilities as Superintendent, in: 1) The operation, programs and other activities conducted or sponsored by local, state and national school administrators and school board associations; 2) Seminars and courses offered by public or private educational institutions and will reimburse the Superintendent up to $600.00 annually for Professional Development tuition; 3) Informational meetings with other persons whose particular skills or backgrounds would serve to improve the capacity of Superintendent to perform his professional responsibilities for the District. B. In its encouragement, the District shall permit a reasonable amount of release time for Superintendent to attend to such matters and pay for the necessary fees for travel and subsistence expenses, as approved by Board in the annual budget. Such absenteeism shall not interfere with performance of Superintendent’s duties. Absence of three or more working days shall be subject to advance notification to the Board President. In the event the Superintendent shall be away from the office of Superintendent for two or more working days, she shall appoint another administrative person to oversee the District in her absence.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. The Board encourages the continuing professional growth of the Superintendent through the Superintendent's participation, as the Superintendent might decide in light of the Superintendent's responsibilities as the Superintendent, in the following: A. The operations, programs, and other activities conducted or sponsored by local, state and national school administrator and/or school board associations; B. Conferences, seminars and courses offered by public or private educational institutions; and C. Informational meetings with other persons whose particular skills of backgrounds would serve to improve the capacity of the Superintendent to perform the Superintendent's professional responsibilities for the Board. D. Visits to other institutions; and E. Other activities promoting the professional growth of the Superintendent. In its encouragement, the Board shall permit a reasonable amount of release time for the Superintendent to attend such matters, which shall include but not be limited to American Association of School Administrators Conferences, New Jersey School Board Association Fall and Spring Conferences, and the Board shall pay all necessary travel, registration and subsistence expenses in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A: 11-12 and the NJ OMB Travel Circular. F. Any other professional development activities and/or conferences not listed hereinabove must have prior approval of the Board for the Superintendent to participate.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. The Board expects the Superintendent to continue her professional development and expects her to participate in relevant learning experiences. The Superintendent should attend appropriate professional meetings at the local and state level, and out-of-state meetings with the prior approval of the Chair of the Board. The actual expenses of said attendance will be paid from the current operating funds of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools System in an amount and manner prescribed by Board policy. The Superintendent shall file itemized expense statements with the finance officer for reimbursement of these expenses in accord with Board Policy. Requests for reimbursements of actual expenses in excess of Board approved per diem rates must be approved by the Chair of the Board.

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. XXXXXX X. XXXXXX shall attend appropriate professional meetings at the local, state and national levels. Expenses of said attendance and membership in said professional organizations shall be paid by the Board, but overnight expenses shall be limited to one (1) national convention and two (2) state conventions per year, except with the agreement of the Board of Education. (Impact Aid meetings and conference will not be considered as national or state conventions). The Board expects XXXXXX X. XXXXXX to continue his professional development. XXXXXX X. XXXXXX shall file a satisfactory itemized expense statement for reimbursement of any such expenses, in accordance with the Board's usual procedure. The Board of Education shall pay all costs and fees associated with State mandated continuing education. All conferences and meetings will be approved per The State of New Jersey Regulations and guidelines.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. A. District encourages the continuing professional growth of Superintendent through her participation in: 1. The operations, programs, and other activities conducted or sponsored by local, state, and national school board associations; 2. Seminars and courses offered by public or private educational institutions; 3. Professional growth seminars and courses offered through professional associations; 4. Informational meetings with other persons whose particular skills or backgrounds would serve to improve the capacity of Superintendent to perform her professional responsibilities for District; and 5. Local civic organizations. B. In its encouragement, District shall permit a reasonable amount of release time for Superintendent to attend such matters and shall pay in accordance with Board policy, necessary travel and subsistence expenses. C. With the prior approval of the Board, the Superintendent may undertake, for consideration, outside professional activities. This includes, by way of illustration and not limitation: consulting, speaking and writing, so long as such outside professional activities do not, in the Board’s sole judgment, interfere with the Superintendent’s performance of her duties. The Superintendent’s outside professional activities shall not occur during work hours. In no event will the Board be responsible for any expenses attendant to the performance of such outside activities.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERINTENDENT. A. The BOARD shall encourage the SUPERINTENDENT and expects that the SUPERINTENDENT will, in his discretion, attend appropriate professional meetings, conferences and workshops at the local, state and national levels; and it is the intent of the BOARD, within budgetary guidelines, to reimburse the SUPERINTENDENT in full for all cost (inclusive of mileage) incurred by fact of his attendance at the aforementioned up to $5,000 per year B. The BOARD shall pay th.e annual dues to two local civic service organizations such as, by way of example, Rotary, Kiwanis, or Lions Club.
