Professional Meetings and Conferences. Executive will be permitted to be absent from the Corporation’s facilities during working days to attend professional meetings and such continuing education programs as are necessary for Executive to maintain such professional licenses and certifications, if any, as are required in the performance of his duties under this Agreement, and to attend to such outside professional duties as have been mutually agreed upon between him and the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation. Attendance at such approved meetings and programs and accomplishment of approved professional duties shall be fully compensated service time and shall not be considered vacation time. The Corporation shall reimburse Executive for all reasonable expenses incurred by him incident to attendance at approved professional meetings and continuing education programs, and such reasonable entertainment expenses incurred by Executive in furtherance of the Corporation’s interests; provided, however, that such reimbursement is approved by the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation.

Professional Meetings and Conferences. Any unit member requesting to attend any conference, convention, or meeting may be absent for such purpose without loss of pay, if such attendance is in the interest of the District and within the scope of the unit member’s area of employment. All requests by teachers must be on the approved District form and submitted in advance for approval by the Building Principal. Requests to attend conferences, conventions, or meetings should be made as early as possible inasmuch as consideration will be given to the date such request is made. If attendance at a conference, meeting or other professional development event is a directive of the administration and not the voluntary request of a unit member, the administration shall pre-approve the cost of transportation, parking, lodging, meals and registration. Unit member shall provide all itemized receipts.
Professional Meetings and Conferences. Included in the annual (July 1 through June 30) budget for each school will be an amount for professional meetings and conferences. The amounts for each of the buildings are as follows: Northmont Senior High School $4000.00 Northmont Middle School $2000.00 Kleptz Early Learning Center $2000.00 Englewood Elementary $1000.00 Englewood Hills Elementary $1000.00 Northmoor Elementary $1000.00 Northwood Elementary $1000.00 Union Elementary $1000.00 Amounts not expended in one fiscal year will accrue to the next fiscal year, provided that at no time shall the accrued amount be more than 150% of the annual amount. Any unit member requesting to attend any conference, convention, or meeting may be absent for such purpose without loss of pay, if such attendance is in the interest of the District and within the scope of the teacher's area of employment. All requests by unit members must be on the approved district form and submitted in advance to the Building Principal. The Building Principal may approve requests, staying within the limits of the building budget for such purposes. An over-all limit on reimbursement for expenses incurred will be placed at $500.00 per teacher per fiscal year and shall be limited to the costs of transportation and parking, lodging, registration, and meals. Attendance at any given professional meeting or convention shall be limited to two (2) unit members per meeting per building of elementary schools, and three (3) unit members per meeting per building at secondary schools. Requests to attend conferences, conventions, or meetings should be made as early as possible inasmuch as consideration will be given to the date such request is made.
Professional Meetings and Conferences. The Board and the Association mutually agree that members of the Association shall be allowed to attend conferences in accord with the reimbursement policy of the Board upon recommendation of the Superintendent.

Professional Meetings and Conferences. Employees wishing to attend any conference, meeting or convention shall file a written request with the Superintendent, but through the Immediate Supervisor. After the Immediate Supervisor has seen and initialed the request, it will be forwarded to the Superintendent who may grant such request with the employee realizing no loss of earnings. The Superintendent will evaluate requests for reimbursement, if any, for each approved trip. Employees attending professional conferences or meetings at Board expense shall provide a 1-2 page written summary to the Superintendent within twenty- one (21) days of returning to work. The summaries may be shared with Board members and other staff as a means to disseminate information.

Professional Meetings and Conferences. A. A member may be granted professional leave days to attend a conference, convention, workshop, meeting or visitation if such attendance is in the interest of the schools and within the scope of the member’s area of employment. A coach may be granted professional leave days to attend clinic/workshop(s). Expenses shall be paid for one (1) clinic/workshop per year as specified in Section C below.
Professional Meetings and Conferences. A. Employees are encouraged to attend professional meetings that contribute to the improvement of the educational programs. In order to regulate attendance to these meetings, certain procedures shall be observed. B. No later than thirty (30) calendar days prior to the requested attendance date, an employee wishing to attend any professional conference, meeting, or convention shall file a written request on the form using the online professional development/conference form located on the district website to the Superintendent through the Immediate Supervisor. Within five (5) workdays of receipt, the Immediate Supervisor shall initial the request and forward it to the Superintendent who may grant such request with or without full deduction of pay. Employees sent to such conferences as representatives of the Board shall have no reduction in pay. The Superintendent shall evaluate requests for reimbursement, if any, for each approved trip. If this procedure is not followed, the trip shall not be approved and shall not be authorized. C. Employees attending professional conferences or meetings at Board expense shall brief the Board or brief the District at a staff meeting about the event when requested. D. Professional development sessions that occur outside of the school day can be outstanding opportunities for growth and improvement. Attendance for these professional development opportunities are not required although it is one way in which employees can remain current with best practices and enhance personal growth. E. If an employee is scheduled for professional development and the school district is closed due to a calamity situation, the employee shall contact their administrator to determine their attendance at said professional development.
