Regional Redeployment Committee. A joint committee of the participating hospitals and local unions identified in Appendix "A" shall meet prior to June 30, 1993, and will establish Regional Redeployment Committees to identify employment opportunities and to facilitate and arrange for the redeployment of laid off employees. Each Hospital will provide such Regional Redeployment Committee with the name, address, telephone number, and years of service and seniority of all employees who have been laid off. In filling vacancies not filled by bargaining unit members, the Hospitals will be encouraged to give first consideration to laid-off employees who are on the list and who are qualified to perform the work. For benefit-entitlement purposes, it is recognized that Hospitals shall be free to grant to any employees hired through this process full credit for service earned with another hospital."

Regional Redeployment Committee. The central parties agree to establish a Regional Redeployment Committee to facilitate the redeployment of laid off employees among the Participating Hospitals between Elliot Lake and Atikokan. To achieve this objective the Hospital Labour Adjustment Committee will forward to the Regional Redeployment Committee a list of the names and addresses of laid off employees who have expressed an interest in working at other Participating Hospitals and who have undertaken skills assessment procedures provided by any government training agency, such as HTAP, that may be in place. In filling vacancies not filled by bargaining unit members the Hospitals are encouraged to give first consideration to laid off employees who are on the list and who are qualified to perform the work. It is recognized that hospitals shall be free to grant to any employees hired through this process full credit for service for benefit entitlement purposes, vacation and wage grid progression earned with another hospital. The size, structure composition, and activities of each Committee will be mutually determined by the parties and application will be made to any available funding source for the funding of administrative expenses. Representatives attending such meetings during their regularly-scheduled hours of work shall not lose regular earnings as a result of such attendance.

In the event membership is accepted, the Hospital agrees to operate in accordance with the terms of the CUPE Central Award handed down by the Xxxxxxxx Board on March 31, 1993, Article 9.11 (c) which appears on Page 25-26 of the Award.
