Responsibilities of the Supervisor. The supervisor must meet the qualifications as outlined in 18VAC125-30-50(D)(3) and maintain licensure for the duration of the supervision. The supervisor shall monitor the performance of the person supervised and provide regular, documented individual (possibly in conjunction with group) supervision according to the schedule specified in this document that is specific to sex offender treatment services being performed with respect to the clinical skills and competencies of the person supervised in accordance with Regulations Governing the Certification of Sex Offender Treatment Providers. The supervisor must avoid multiple relationships that could compromise the objectivity of the supervisory relationship with the trainee. The supervisor shall assume full responsibility for the professional activities of that trainee specified within the supervisory contract for the duration of the supervised experience or until terminated. The supervisor will document the trainee’s total hours of supervision, length of work experience, competence in sex offender treatment, and the needs for additional supervision or training. The supervisor will report the total hours of supervised experience and will evaluate the trainee’s competency by completing the verification of supervision form. The supervisor will provide supervision as defined in 18VAC125-30-50. The supervisor will ensure that the trainee is practicing within the scope of the trainee’s knowledge and training. The supervisor will ensure the trainee has read and is knowledgeable about the state and federal laws related to reporting requirements and emergency procedures for high risk or abused clients, as well as confidentiality and privileged communication. The supervisor will, within a reasonable period of time before termination of supervision, provide the trainee and employer with a notice of termination to avoid or minimize any harmful effect on the trainee’s clients or patients. The supervisor will conduct supervision as a process distinct from personal therapy or didactic instruction. The supervisor will not provide supervision for activities for which the prospective applicant has not had appropriate training. The supervisor will be available outside of scheduled supervision for consultation and/or emergency situations. Responsibilities of the Supervisor. The professional training of a candidate is an important and demanding role, not one to be undertaken lightly or for the wrong reasons. The responsibilities of the surveyor include,:- 7.1 to provide the range of experience necessary for the candidate’s development, 7.2 to provide the tuition and guidance necessary for the candidate’s development (both technical and professional), 7.3 to be wholly responsible for the correct performance of jobs by the candidate, 7.4 to treat the candidate’s development as of primary importance and not just an ancillary activity to the running of the firm or the correct completion of surveys, 7.5 to encourage the candidate’s participation in continuing professional development courses. 7.6 to be responsible for effective feedback to the candidate on every job, 7.7 to report to the Board on a regular basis on the progress of the candidate’s training. (Refer to guideline 9). 7.8 to be responsible for the decision to put the candidate forward for examination. The Board must depend heavily on the surveyor’s opinion as to the candidate’s readiness, The Professional Training Agreement should state the extent of the supervisor’s responsibility (if any is accepted) for arranging or participating in training (of a stated nature) that is not available within the supervisor’s firm. To clarify the extent or basis of the agreement it is beneficial for it to list the scope of work normally done by the supervisor, and to list any necessary types of work which the supervisor does not do. It is recognised that the supervisor is not committed to successfully complete the candidate’s development within any time frame, even though a time schedule is included in the agreement. The length of time necessary to complete the training is dependant on the ability and endeavours of the candidate.
Responsibilities of the Supervisor. Each MNPS employee who acts in a supervisory capacity is responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy by those employees in his or her line of authority. Should such a supervisory MNPS employee become aware of a potential or real violation of this Policy by an employee outside of his or her line of authority, that supervisory employee must report and disclose the real or potential violation to the MNPS Director of Purchasing. Such a conflict of interest arises when:  The employee, officer or agent,  Any member of his/her immediate family,  His/her partner, or Ethics, Conflicts of Interest and Acceptance of Gifts An organization which employs or is about to employ any of the above parties, has a financial or other interest in or other tangible personal benefit from a firm considered or selected for the award or contract. Any MNPS employee, officer or agent responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications, proposals or other documents related to awarding funds must promptly disclose any conflict of interest to the MNPS Director of Purchasing, who will review the disclosed potential conflict of interest and take any action(s) deemed appropriate or required to address, manage or resolve the matter. If the MNPS Director of Purchasing is involved in the reported conflict, the individual reporting the potential conflict should disclose it to the MNPS Chief Financial Officer. If appropriate, these disclosures and conflicts will be reported to the Metropolitan Attorney assigned to MNPS, who may determine whether additional actions or sanctions should be recommended or implemented.
