ROSTER ARRANGEMENTS. Roster arrangements will be established in accordance with business demands. Shift rosters shall be arranged Monday through Sunday inclusive, comprising any combination of day, afternoon and night shifts. The employer will make every effort to roster employees in a manner that is both fair and equitable. If employees have family and or study commitments the employer will attempt to accommodate employees as best as possible, considering the operational requirements of the business.

ROSTER ARRANGEMENTS. 5.1 Employees shall be individually rostered on a rotating shift work roster over a fifty-six (56) day cycle with regular and irregular rostering. An employee on regular or irregular rostering shall be rostered for work on the basis of one shift of eight (8) hours duration on each of the five (5) consecutive days Monday to Friday of each rostered on week. Each week of regular and irregular rostering (Monday to Friday) shall be known as the five (5) day period. Separate individual allocation arrangements shall apply to overtime shifts on Saturday and Sunday in accordance with existing arrangements. See also clause 19 of the Industrial Agreement.

The employee must observe the start and finish times, including designated breaks. The employer will make every effort to roster the employee in a manner that is fair and equitable and which takes into account the preferences of individual employees. For example, where an employee has family or study commitments, the employer will attempt to accommodate these commitments. However, rosters must be arranged so that the workplace can operate effectively. This means that the employer may not always be able to accommodate the employee’s preferences. The employer will provide the employee with a roster at least seven days prior to the commencement of the roster. Unforeseen circumstances may result in an employee’s rostered hours of work being altered. In such circumstances, the employer will give 24 hours’ notice to the affected employee of the required change to the roster. The requirement to provide 24 hours’ notice may be waived, provided agreement is reached between the employer and the employee concerned. The employer recognises the importance of ensuring that any changes to a roster are effectively communicated to employees. Consequently, work rosters will be posted in a readily accessible place. The ordinary hours of work for a full-time employee will not exceed an average of 38 hours per week over a 52 week period. Although the actual hours of work may vary from week to week, with some weeks greater than 38 hours and other weeks less, the employee will not work in excess of 1976 ordinary hours in any 52 week period. The maximum ordinary hours in any one shift will be 10, except in extreme or unusual circumstances and by mutual agreement between the employee and employer. The ordinary hours of work for a part-time employee will be set by the employer at the time of the employee’s engagement at a number between 4 hours per week and 38 hours per week (the employee’s set ordinary hours), averaged over a 52 week period. This means that the actual hours of work may vary from week to week, with some weeks greater than 38 hours and other weeks less. However the employee will not work in excess of the number of set ordinary hours in this period. The maximum ordinary hours in any one shift will be 10, except in extreme or unusual circumstances and by mutual agreement...

ROSTER ARRANGEMENTS. 4.1 Employees covered by this Agreement shall be individually rostered on a rotating shift work roster over a fifty-six (56) day cycle. An employee shall be rostered for work on the basis of one shift of twelve point five (12.5) hours duration on each of the four (4) consecutive days rostered on followed by four (4) rostered days off. 4.2 PWCS shall roster employees in four (4) crews in accordance with the roster arrangements set out in Attachment 1 to this Agreement such that in the eight (8) week cycle of the roster, employees shall average forty-three point seven five (43.75) rostered hours per week. The rostered hours consist of thirty-five (35) hours of ordinary hours of work and eight point seven five (8.75) hours of overtime. 4.3 The roster rotation will consist of four (4) consecutive days of two (2) day shifts followed by two (2) night shifts. Two panels will be rostered respectively to day and night shifts and two panels will be rostered off on any one day.

The employer will provide the employee with a roster at least seven days prior to the commencement of the roster. Unforeseen circumstances may result in an employee’s rostered hours of work being altered. In such circumstances, the employer will give 24 hours’ notice to the affected employee of the required change to the roster. The requirement to provide 24 hours’ notice may be waived in the event of plant stoppages or wind interruptions The ordinary hours of work for a full-time employee will be based on 60.80 hours within a 14 day cycle and will not exceed the allowable working hours under relevant State or Federal Regulations and Legislation.
