Seniority Factors. The Employer and the Union agree that in selecting employees for a job opening, appointment will be made of the most senior applicant on the applicable list, (the regular employee seniority list) who meets the normal requirements of the job with a reasonable amount of orientation and training. If there are no applicants from the applicable list, applications will be considered from the other list (the on-call employee seniority list) and an appointment made of the most senior applicant who meets the normal requirements of the job with a reasonable amount of orientation and training.

In addition, a Regular part-time employee who has completed their probationary period, who is absent on sick leave without pay for a period of over a week and provides a Doctor’s note supporting such absence shall receive credit for seniority based upon the employee’s average weekly hours in the ten (10) weeks immediately preceding the commencement of sick leave without pay.
