Sick Leave Bank Eligibility. An employee accruing annual leave shall contribute three (3) hours annually to the Association Sick Leave Bank. The contribution to the Bank will occur automatically through payroll deduction during either September or October of each school year or during the first ninety (90) calendar days of employment. If the Sick Leave Bank drops below 2000 hours, an additional three (3) hours of annual leave shall be contributed to the Bank. Newly hired employees electing not to join the Bank will inform the Human Resource Department in writing within fifteen (15) calendar days of their date of hire. Refusal to join the Sick Leave Bank will bar the employee from membership in or benefits from the Bank for their period of employment with the District unless notification of their intent to participate is received in the Human Resource Department in writing during the annual open enrollment period. Current employees electing to join or withdraw from the Bank will inform Human Resources in writing during the annual open enrollment period of September 1-15.
