SICK LEAVE FOR LONG TERM OCCASIONAL TEACHERS. A Long Term Occasional Teacher shall be entitled to one sick leave day upon completion of the first 10 school days of a long term occasional teaching assignment and one sick leave day for each 10 school days subsequently completed in that long term occasional teaching assignment within the same school year.

SICK LEAVE FOR LONG TERM OCCASIONAL TEACHERS. C.2.1 Upon the effective date of a Long Term Occasional Teacher Agreement, the teacher shall be entitled to sick leave credits in accordance with the following provisions of this Article. The sick leave plan shall be subject to the final authority of the Board.
C.2.2 A Long Term Occasional Teacher shall be granted two (2) days of sick leave credit for each complete month of service. Such days shall be credited at the beginning of the Long Term Occasional assignment. Part-time Long Term Occasional Teachers shall benefit under the plan on a pro-rata basis of the time employed and salary. Xxxx leave credits will be accumulated and carried up to the end of the school year in which the Long Term Occasional assignment was completed. No sick leave credits will be carried over into the following school year.
C.2.3 The sick leave credits accumulated by each Long Term Occasional Teacher shall be reduced by one day for each day of absence due to illness or injury. A Long Term Occasional Teacher shall, when the illness is for a period exceeding five (5) consecutive days, or when the Superintendent requests it, produce evidence of injury or illness satisfactory to the Board, which may include a certificate or report signed by a registered medical or dental practitioner.
C.2.4 There shall be no payment made by the Board, other than in accordance with Article C.2.3, to any Occasional Teacher in respect of unused sick leave credits accumulated while employed as a Long Term Occasional Teacher.
C.2.5 An Occasional Teacher on a long term assignment shall be entitled to the following:
(a) a maximum of three (3) days with pay for the observance of Faith Days, for a sincerely held religious belief, with no deduction to the sick leave account;
(b) an additional two (2) days with pay for the observance of a Faith Day, for a sincerely held religious belief, with deduction to the sick leave account;
(c) a maximum of three (3) days with pay, with deduction to the sick leave account, for the severe illness or death of a mother, father, child, spouse (including common law spouse) or same- sex partner; and
(d) a maximum of one (1) day per occasion with pay, with deduction to the sick leave account for a funeral.
SICK LEAVE FOR LONG TERM OCCASIONAL TEACHERS. All absences must be reported through the Principal to the Executive Officer of Human Resources. Absences for personal illness or injury for a period not exceeding five (5) days may be certified by the school Principal unless the Executive Officer of Human Resources asks specifically for certification by a qualified medical or dental practitioner. For absences over five (5) days, a certificate from a qualified medical or dental practitioner may be requested. For absence exceeding one (1) month, the Executive Officer of Human Resources may request a medical certificate from a qualified medical or dental practitioner appointed by the Board. If the Board asks for a medical certificate to be provided, the Occasional Teacher will be reimbursed for the cost of the required certificate.

SICK LEAVE FOR LONG TERM OCCASIONAL TEACHERS a) Deductions from a member's sick leave for absences of less than a full day shall be pro-rated to the nearest half day.
b) Sick leave entitlements under this clause may be used for illness or injury, as well as for dental or medical appointments.
c) Medical documentation shall be requested and maintained in accordance with L10.04.

SICK LEAVE FOR LONG TERM OCCASIONAL TEACHERS a) Teachers employed by a Board to fill a long term teaching assignment that is a full year will be allocated eleven (11) sick days payable at one hundred percent allocated at the commencement of the assignment. A Teacher who is employed by a Board to fill a long term teaching assignment that is less than a full year will be allocated eleven (11) sick days, reduced to reflect the proportion the assignment bears to the length of the regular work year (194 days), and allocated at the start of the assignment. If a teacher’s employment status is less than full- time, the teacher’s allocation of sick leave credits shall be prorated by the ratio that the teacher’s FTE status is to full-time status. Sick leave days may be used for reasons of personal illness and injury and personal medical appointments.
