Sick Leave Reimbursement into VEBA. Contingent on a notification to the Employer by the Federation to authorize continuation of the VEBA program, employees covered by this Agreement shall have all funds generated by sick leave buyout at retirement contributed to a Voluntary Employee's Beneficiary Association (VEBA). The Federation may give notice to the Employer at any time that they wish to cancel participation in the VEBA program for the next plan year consistent with the program's guidelines and IRS rules.

Sick Leave Reimbursement into VEBA. Contingent on a vote by the AFT-SPS to 28 authorize continuation of the VEBA program, employees shall have all funds generated by sick 29 leave buyout at retirement contributed to a Voluntary Employee's Beneficiary Association 30 (VEBA). AFT-SPS may give notice to the District at any time that they wish to cancel participation 31 in the VEBA program for the next plan year consistent with the program's guidelines and IRS 32 rules. 33 Section 9.7 Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA): Pursuant to the Federal Family Medical Leave Act 34 of 1993 (FMLA), eligible employees shall be entitled to a total of twelve (12) workweeks of absence 35 during a twelve (12) month period for one or more of the events cited below: 36 a) the birth of a child and to care for the newborn child within one year of birth; 37 b) the placement with the employee of a child for adoption or xxxxxx care and to 38 care for the newly placed child within one year of placement; 39 c) to care for the employee’s spouse, child, or parent who has a serious health 40 condition; 1 d) serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform the 2 essential functions of his or her job; 3 e) any qualifying exigency arising out of the fact that the employee’s spouse, son, 4 daughter, or parent is a covered military member on “covered active duty;” or 5 f) Twenty-six workweeks of leave during a single 12-month period to care for a 6 covered service member with a serious injury or illness if the eligible employee 7 is the service member’s spouse, son, daughter, parent, or next of kin (military 8 caregiver leave).

  • Sick Leave Reimbursement An employee who has received sick leave benefits for injuries caused by a third party shall be obliged, in the event such employee undertakes an action for recovery of damages against the third party, to seek recovery of the total cost of wages and benefits paid to the employee while on sick leave. The employee shall be obliged to reimburse the Employer to the extent the employee succeeded in recovering such wages and benefits. This provision includes claims made to ICBC.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.

  • Sick Leave Accrual All eligible employees shall accrue sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per pay period of continuous employment beginning with their date of eligibility. Eligible employees being paid for less than a full eighty (80) hour pay period shall have sick leave accruals pro-rated in accord with the schedule set forth in Appendix D.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.

  • Sick Leave Bonus ‌ For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • SICK LEAVE WITH PAY Sick leave with pay for employees shall be determined in the following manner:

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Usage 1. Sick leave may be used by an employee when sick, injured, or quarantined. Also sick leave may be used on the occasion of an illness in the employee's family, where a need can be shown. 2. In computing compensation payable for sick leave, the compensation paid shall be the amount the employee would earn during the sick leave period if working at their current rate of pay and work schedule without the inclusion of overtime earnings.

  • Sick Leave Allowance Faculty with a full-time assignment shall accrue sick leave at the rate of eight

  • Sick Leave Accumulation (a) An employee is eligible to accumulate sick leave with full pay at the rate of 16 working hours for each 173 1/3 hours of service. (b) The maximum number of days of sick leave which may be awarded to an employee during any consecutive twenty (20) year period of service shall not exceed 3840 hours.
